Sans was not sleeping peacefully. He was used to nightmares but this was something else. The visions were so much clearer, the death and misery more real than ever. His pain was finally put to an end when he woke from his hellish nightmare with a scream loud enough to catch the attention of his brother, Papyrus. He immediately ran into Sans' room and comforted the shaking skeleton, speaking to him in a gentle voice.
*SANS...
*YOU HAD THAT DREAM AGAIN, DIDN'T YOU?
Sans hugged Papyrus tightly, tears welling in his eyes.
*y-yes.....
*but it was worse than ever this time
*it felt so real.....
Papyrus calmly tried to settle Sans down before he spoke up again.
*YOU'RE STILL NOT TELLING ME WHAT THAT DREAM IS ABOUT.
*YOU JUST SAY THAT A HUMAN IS INVOLVED.
*they did so many horrible things papyrus.
*they hurt so many people.
*COME ON SANS.
*YOU KNOW THAT WON'T HAPPEN.
*I'LL MAKE SURE IT DOESN'T HAPPEN!
*ESPECIALLY NOT TO YOU!
*IF A HUMAN FALLS DOWN HERE AND WANTS TO HURT YOU, THEY WILL HAVE TO GO THROUGH ME FIRST!
Sans pretended that he felt better, to keep Papyrus from being worried.
*heh, thanks bro.
*i'll try to go back to sleep now.
*GOOD NIGHT SANS.
*AND IF YOU NEED ME, DON'T HESITATE TO COME AND FIND ME.
*I REALLY CARE ABOUT YOU SANS.
*SWEET DREAMS!
Papyrus turned off the light and returned back to his room, leaving Sans by himself. He fell asleep a few minutes later, the nightmares returning almost instantly. Sans felt completely hopeless but everything soon changed. The death and destruction disappeared and was replaced by a familiar figure. He stood tall in the empty void that was Sans' dream, maintaining a calm and gentle presence before softly speaking.

The figure slowly faded away as the black void transformed into a vision of the surface. Of sparkling night stars and grand cityscapes. Everyone he knew was there, everyone he loved was there. Sans had now settled in his slumber. He was in paradise, the one place he hoped and dreamed for. He wished for it to never end.
