Shall I compare thee to a summers night
As the fires of daylights passing do fade
How can I when your eyes so clear and bright
Overshadow by far the light mere stars have made
Your hair like the curtain of night surrounding
The light in your eyes and the warmth of your smile
Like the light of a single candle compounding
The strength with which your presence doth beguile
Unlike you the night will soon be passing
Thoughts of mornings sunshine bring to mind
That even when the daylight seems all encompassing
Nights return will bring day to end in kind
Tonight here while the stars do shine
I dare to think that our fingers might entwine
