(Y.C.N)= your crush name, (y.c.f.n)= your crish full name

“All the lovers around the world got me singing merry, merry Christmas; merry, merry Christmas (and happy holidays). And every boy and girl stay close to the ones you love and thank God above that you got someone this year that can fill your heart with cheer. Hey angel in the snow, I’m under the mistletoe. You are the one; you’re my very own Christmas love. Tell Santa I’m cool this year, my present is standing right here. Thank God above for my very own Christmas love.”

I was more than ready for my Christmas date with my boyfriend of four years. Even though Christmas is quite different in California then it is s Colorado, (y.c.n) and I have formed traditions that make it perfect and festive and simply wonderful. Christmas lights were strung around my apartment, along with a tree and other random decorations. Justin Bieber’s Christmas Love blared from my iHome. I knew that if (y.c.n) was here, he’d be rolling his eyes at my music taste but he wouldn’t dare ask me to change it. He’s sweet like that; also he knows not to make me mad.

Glancing in the mirror, I straightened my red top and readjusted my scarf. I was rather proud of the outfit; after all, it was the perfect thing to wear for a winter date. It was warm enough to handle the California cool temperatures as well as being cute and festive enough to tackle the holiday theme.

A knock at my closed apartment door caused a little bubble of excitement to burst inside me. Quickly, I dashed out of the bedroom and toward the door, pulling it open. The ever handsome, romantic and sweet (y.c.f.n) stood on the other side, an amused smile on his lips.

“Justin Bieber at Christmas?” He teased with a raised eyebrow. “Really, (y.n)?”

“You secretly love it,” I teased back as he stepped into my apartment, closing the door behind him.

“Damn, it looks like my darkest secret has finally been revealed to the world.” He admitted dramatically. “I don’t think I can go on. Everything about my life is ruined now.”

“Who knew Justin Bieber had so much power over the world.” I gasped, wrapping my arms around his neck.

“Well you better not tell him that, his ego may inflate so much he blows up.” (y.c.n) said, his hands resting on my hips and his thumbs rubbing them softly.

Before I could answer, a thoughtful look suddenly appeared on his handsome face. “You know, on second thought maybe that wouldn’t be such a bad idea.”

I gasped up at my boyfriend, unable to believe he really just said that. I knew he just did it to get under my skin and that it shouldn’t get to me, but it did slightly. As a fan of his, I’m a little protective of Justin mainly because I love his music so much.

“Stop looking at me like I just kicked your puppy,” (y.c.n) demanded gently, adding a kiss to my forehead—probably in an effort to make me forgive him.

“Stop insulting Justin then,” I sassed back, smirking as his eyes narrowed slightly.

“Would you prefer to go on this date with him?” (y.c.n) asked with a raised eyebrow, stepping away from me ever so slightly. “Because I can leave.”

“No!” I exclaimed, pulling him back and frowning up at him. “I’d choose you over Justin Bieber any day.”

“Really? Well that’s a good thing to know.” (y.c.n) smirked before kissing my cheek swiftly. “Are you ready to go?”

Nodding, I pulled away from him to grab my purse from the table. A few seconds later, I was back at his side but this time we were holding hands as we made our way down the hallway, toward the elevator.

“So, where are we going?” I asked my boyfriend of four years as we stepped into the elevator.

“I was thinking we’d do our traditional Christmas date and go into the sound?”

“Absolutely perfect,” I responded, squeezing his hand gently. “I can’t believe how much has changed. It seems like just yesterday we both signed letters of intent.”

“Now we’ve graduated, you’ve turned pro and who knows where life will take us now.” (y.c.n) agreed, blocking the door so that it wouldn’t close on me as I stepped out. “Life doesn’t slow down but I don’t regret a single moment of anything that’s been going on. I’m happy that I get to spend it all with you. Now how about we just focus on the two of us and have the perfect day out, okay?”

“That sounds absolutely perfect,” I answered, turning my head to kiss his cheek softly.

A few hours later, (y.c.n) and I were sitting in a small coffee shop, drinking hot chocolate and snuggling on one of the couches, which also happened to be right by the fireplace.

“You know every Christmas with you always feels like a dream,” I informed (y.c.n) as he played with my hair. “A beautiful, wonderful dream that I never want to wake up from.”

“That’s how I’ve felt every day since I met you,” He confided, pressing a kiss to the top of my head. “I don’t think I’ll ever fully understand how much I love you, (y.f.n).”

Four years later this man can still bring butterflies to the pit of my stomach. Grinning up at him, I pressed a kiss to the underside of his jaw.

“Doesn’t that make it the best kind of love, though?” I asked, glancing up at him. “I think it’s part of what makes us so very wonderful.”

“(y.n),” (y.c.n) breathed, his hand unwrapping from around me and reaching for something in his pocket. “Will you marry me?”

My eyes widened and my heart sped up. I couldn’t believe it was real. Maybe this Christmas really is a dream. Reaching down, I pinched my arm, just to make sure, and winced at the pain. I’m definitely awake right now and this beautiful moment is real.

“Why did you just pinch yourself?” (y.c.n) asked in amusement but his nervousness was evident in the laugh he let out.

“I had to make sure I wasn’t dreaming.”

“I promise you, you aren’t dreaming,” (y.c.n) confirmed kissing me quickly as though to prove his point. “So, let me ask one more time. (y.f.n), will you marry me?”

Grinning brightly, I nodded several times and held out my hand to him. Grinning back he slid the ring on my finger with shaking hands before kissing me deeply.

I knew one thing in that moment: that every day of the rest of our life together shall be just like a dream. And it will all be wonderful.                                                                                                                               ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Merry Christmas!!!!
