'Today is Friday, finally' I thought to myself tying my black and white all star converse laces up. I was only working two hours today and then I could come home and relax without having to worry about unfinished schoolwork and travelling from college to work hoping I make it on time. For the next two days being lazy, catch ups on TV shows and food are the only things on the agenda. Grabbing my black coat and my over the shoulder black skull bag, yes black is mostly what I like to wear I opened my small apartment door, small being an understatement then closed it locking it behind me as I descended the cream carpeted stairs to the ground floor. My apartment consisted of a small lounge and a kitchen joined together with a small bathroom big enough for one and a small bedroom big enough for myself. Although it was small it was perfect size for me at the moment.

Making it outside the cold breeze from the winter weather hitting my uncovered legs causing goose bumps to run up them. The cafe was only a ten minute walk down the road so instead of getting the bus I decided just to walk there and save on bus fare. I tried to save as much money as I could as even though I was on scholarship I still had to pay rent and put food on the table which is were my little waitress job came in. Although it did not make me a millionaire it made me enough to live on and pay bills. I stuck in my green headphones and plugged them into my phone, going into my music I put on Davey Suicide's 'Imperfect' and started on my usual route to walk ignoring the world and letting the voice of Davey, the beat of the drum and the guitars pulse through my head forgetting any worries that I may have had.

The cold air made me pull my jacket more to my skin trying to keep warm. I finally spotted the cafe sign that hangs above the door to the cafe I work in. It has a black background and Cafe in big white letters. It is a nice quiet place where I like to sit and study on my days off and I love the hot chocolate with chocolate sauce with marshmallows. Unfortunately that was off the table today as I was working and not a customer. Stepping inside the cafe the heat hit me very quickly it was a lovely feeling as the warmth surrounded my body. Even though the cafe walls were sea blue, a cold colour it was really warm inside and the small bright lights that hung on the walls with the wooden bookcase filled with a various amount of novels, on the far end with large sofas with soft pillows for sitting on made it seem more homely.

"Morning Sunshine" Turning towards the counter I noticed Leon standing there with a big welcoming grin on his face.

"Morning" I returned the smile lifting up the counter top and stepping into the back of the cafe to hang up my bag and jacket.

"So" Leon said to me as I returned to the front to begin working.

"So?" I questioned slightly confused.

"So are you coming with us tonight? You promised Jess you would"

'Oh crap' I thought, I had completely forgot Jess invited me to the opening of the new club in town 'Crystal Lights'. Night clubs weren't really our thing we were more into bars but because this was going to be the biggest night club in town we thought we would try it. i had completely forgot though due to the hard and tiring week I have had. Oh well guess I can kiss goodbye to being a lazy and eating my weight in food.

"Don't worry i'll be there. I'd rather not get killed by Jess for not going" We laughed.

"Good. You don't want to hear her moaning about how you never went either"

"I know. I'd kind of like to see my next birthday." Even though it is only in a few weeks.

"Do you still need a lift my little poppet?"

"Yes if you don't mind you'll be a life saver thanks Leo"

"Your'e welcome"

Picking up his now filled cups tray he headed over to serve his table whilst I grabbed my pen and notepad and headed in the opposite direction to take the order for my first table. It was going to be a long night I could sense it. Hopefully tonight will be okay and not turn into a complete disaster.
