The lights finally have died out.
Eternal happiness was your wish,
eternal darkness was the only result. You walk around, your soul dead, your spirit defeated.
You told yourself it never ever mattered, never happened at all.
Memories of the warmth you once felt hold onto you with deathly grips.
Nothing filled the chasm in your heart, not even for a time.
You lose track of time, forget what's important.
The world could go up in flames and to you, it wouldn't matter anymore.
A dim recollection is all you have about your life before the lights came and went.
Life before the lights was nothing.
