"It's a shame. He could've been something if it wasn't for you." the Countess looked at me with her cold eyes.
"He's already been more than you could ever even dream of being." I replied fearlessly with rage.
"Well now he's dead." she tilted her head and slightly smiled. "All because of your love for him."

"No..." I shook my head, not giving in to her tricks. "He's dead because you're selfish. You couldn't have him truly loving anyone, even if it was what made him happy. You wanted to watch him suffer and he was better than that. He knew he was better than that and he wasn't afraid of you anymore. You might think that you've won, but now we can be together and you are still alone. You'll always be all alone...because no matter how many people fall for your tricks, no one will ever truly love you the way Tristan loves me."

"You think that hurts me?" she chuckled.
"Yeah, I do." I smirked. "Actually, I know it kills you."
"You're pathetic." she shook her head. "You actually think you're worth something. You're dead, sweetheart. You're life is over. You're stuck here where you won't amount to anything and you can never achieve anything you once dreamed."
"You're wrong." I laughed. "I can now spend forever in Tristan's arms. That was and has been my dream for so long. Ever since I was little I dreamed of finding someone who loved me and never letting them go. I dreamed of having a family that loves me and cares about me and I've found that here. Those are my dreams and you made them come true. So I guess I should be thanking you."

"I'm done here." she replied, knowing she had been defeated.

She made her way out the door and I said my goodbye's to what was left of Tristan. Mr. March then carried his lifeless body away and I sat in the room, awaiting his return.

I sat in that room for a month waiting for him to show up. Liz, Iris, and Sally would visit occasionally, sometimes bringing in new people for me to meet who had always been at the hotel, but I had never gotten the chance to speak to. Sally brought in an officer, who was also a serial killer, named John. He was surprisingly nice to talk to. Liz and Iris introduced me to the Countess' husband, Will Drake, who had died a few weeks after Tristan. He was nice to talk to, but I didn't really want to talk to anyone. I just wanted Tristan to return.

I had started to doubt that Tristan was even going to return. Usually people returned in a day at the least or two weeks at the most. Liz wasn't doubtful though. She explained to me that she felt that because of the madness of the hotel, sometimes the soul would get lost and confused after it left the body. It would search for as long as it felt needed to find it's body. She said if the person was weak, the person would appear within hours or a day, but if they were persistent and strong, it would take longer for their soul to give up searching for their body. That made a lot of sense to me. Tristan was a very persistent person and he never went out without a fight.

"He will return to you." Liz said one day after walking into the room to me crying.
"What if he doesn't?" I asked. "What if he's lost forever?"
"As long as he has you, he will never stay gone." she smiled. "He loves you, and that love will drive him to find you."
"You think so?" I looked up at her.
"Of course." she replied before there was a knock at the door.

I was use to people constantly coming in and out to check on me, so this wasn't strange to me. There was a number of people that it could be by now.

I got up from the bed and walked to the door. I opened it up and immediately stopped in my tracks. I had been waiting for so long, that I didn't even believe what I was seeing.

"Hey darling." Tristan smiled.
"You're back." I looked at him in disbelief.
"Of course I am." he laughed. "I'd never leave you forever."

Without another word, I jumped into his arms. It felt so nice to know that nothing could ever take him from me again.

"I'm never letting you go." I smiled, with tears in my eyes.
"You never have to." he responded before kissing me.

Liz left for awhile so that Tristan and I could reunite and I could catch him up on what had happened while he was away, but it wasn't long before the knocking on the door began once again.

I answered the door to see Liz, Iris, Will, Mr. March, and John all standing in the hallway.

"Um... hi?" I looked at them all strangely.
"We have to talk to you about something." Liz spoke up.
"Can it wait?" I wandered. "Tristan's only been back for an hour?"
"No, it can not." Mr. March made his way past me and into the room. "Hello Tristan. It's nice to see you again."
Tristan just nodded and looked at him.
"March. You were suppose to be polite." Will growled from the doorway.
"We don't have time for courtesy, my good man." Mr. March argued. "We must act quickly, before we are too late."
"Can someone please tell me what's going on?" I looked around as they all made their way into the room and shut the door behind them.
"We need your help, dear." Iris looked at me.
"With what?" I wandered.
"Murder." John replied with a wild look in his eye.
"I don't think I can help you with that." I back up and sat down on the bed next to Tristan.
"Not just murder." Will rolled his eyes. "The murder of someone who has done wrong to us all."
"Wait, are you talking about-" I began.
"The Countess." Mr. March said hastily. "And we must act quickly before she finds out our plan and flee's."
"Are you interested in helping us?" John asked.

I looked at Tristan and hesitated. This was a moment we had waited so long for. We had wanted to end her for so long. We wanted to do to her what she had done to many. This was our chance. We could finally avenge every soul she cursed to roam the hotel for eternity and every person she had made her personal slave.

Tristan smirked and it was like we were reading each other's minds.

I turned to the group and nodded, "We're in."
