The Biggest Mistake

Chapter 4

Heatherpaw slowly opened her eyes not remembering a thing. In front of her there was a handsome tom with a missing eye. Where was she? She closed her eyes once more and re-opened them. The cat was still in front of her. She straightened up and started to clean her matted fur. Was she in StarClan? Then, all of sudden a strange ripple went through her fur. She saw an image, it was kind of blurry. It was her and Turtletail walking up a big mound of rocks. Suddenly she saw Turtletail grow a terrified look on his face.
"Adder!" He yelled.
Heatherpaw was still watching the memory, she saw herself get bitten by an adder. I must be in StarClan. Oh No! I'm dead!
"Your not dead." A mysterious tom said.
He must be reading my mind.
"You are just badly injured. I am Snowfeather."
Snowfeather... That name sounded familiar. Heatherpaw realized he was one of the brave cats in one of the nursery stories!
"You mustn't tell anyone that we are speaking. Heatherpaw, I'm going to help you recover from your injury and become the best warrior the clans have ever seen." He told her.
"Really?! You will??" She asked.
"Of course. I will train you every night in your dreams. You will do different things than every other apprentice in your clan. Please don't forget. Do. Not. Tell. Anyone." He instructed.
"Ok! I promise." She meant every word.

    Heatherpaw blinked opened her eyes and groaned. "It hurts."
"I know, I know. She heard Lightwing calmly speaking to her.
"It'll be alright. I'll fix you all up, and you'll be just fine very soon."
Heatherpaw moaned. She felt a lot of pain, but she noticed the shimmery outline of Snowfeather in the corner of the den. Heatherpaw suddenly felt better. Her vision was blurred, but faintly she saw Turtletail pacing and murmuring things to himself. Heatherpaw couldn't hear what he was saying, Turtletail sat down and started to pray to StarClan. Heatherpaw squinted her eyes, Dawnpaw was trying to keep Beestripe and Rosetail out of the medicine den. Lightwing was frantically grabbing herbs. Lightwing pressed cobwebs onto her wound, it was bleeding badly. Heatherpaw saw some berries by her head, she thought Lightwing put them there. She gobbled them up, and Lightwing let out a scream.
