Here we are. The Christmas Special. Although this whole one-shot business didn't really work out as expected, and a lot of changes were made,I still promised this and you're getting it.
However, there is a slight change to it all. This special is not a YouTuber one-shot.
I decided, since the beloved Eleventh Doctor is regenerating today and the clock will be striking twelve, why not write a one-shot revolving on his last adventure alone?
**Please note that this was written before the Time of the Doctor aired, so don't tell me this isn't what happened. Because quite frankly, as I write this, I don't know what happened.**
Also, this one is pretty short, but I think it's good enough.
Merry Christmas.

"See you in a week!" Clara exclaimed, walking out the TARDIS door. I tried to protest, telling her that it wasn't a week for me, like I did every time, but she never listened. I sighed, now alone in the TARDIS, and walked back to the center. I half-heartedly began pressing buttons and pulling levers and making objects ding, until I knew the TARDIS was just cruising in Space. Silently, I walked over to the door and pulled it open, looking out at the stars and empty void that lingered all around the blue box. I smiled a bit, before sitting down, letting my legs hang out of the wooden frame, and just sat. There was nobody to talk to, and soon, the silence was filled with my thoughts.
I could feel it coming. I didn't know how, or when, or if it was really true, but I could feel it. I knew I would regenerate soon. Sighing, I looked down at the crimson red bow-tie that was tied around my neck. I started thinking about all my past regenerations, all the different appearances and personalities I had. I thought very long and hard about every one, thinking about all the quirky things I wore and said and did, and the companions I traveled with, but no matter how hard I recalled the memories, they always seemed hazy. Distant, as if they weren't really me. Just someone I knew. People I hadn't talked to for years.
In a way, they weren't me. I was completely different. I mean, I don't even like Jelly-Babies anymore, and I've never had the urge to say that certain French word my past form always said. It wasn't me. And then it made me wonder, all the things I do now, what I like, what I say, it's all going to seem so unfamiliar soon.
I looked back out into the infinite measure of space, staring at the distant spheres of fire and ice, anti-matter and gas, recognizing most of them. I then found my eyes gliding over to a spot, far in the distance, that was completely black. There was nothing there, just a small, empty area. I knew what used to be there though. Even after 900 years, I still knew what was there. I'd never forget.
I continued staring at my bow-tie, before quickly fixing it and running back to the control panel, after I stood back up again and closed the TARDIS doors. I strided through the halls of the TARDIS, careful not to get lost, until I came across a small room. In there, I held all the keepsakes clothing items and materials from my past forms. I smiled a bit, looking over all of it. A multi-colored umbrella over here, a scarf over there, a pair of 3D glasses, a leather jacket, a trenchcoat or two, and many, many different hats. I smiled, taking a step closer to all the items, but resisting the urge to move any of them from their places.
Quietly, I backed up and walked out of the room, closing the metal door behind me and walking back down the long corridors. When I returned, I saw the TARDIS had began picking up speed on its own.
"What are you doing?" I exclaimed to the TARDIS, rushing to her control panel and pressing buttons, trying to make it stop, but it only got faster with everything I pushed, to the point where I was forced to stop flying the TARDIS and begin grabbing onto the railing, holding on until my knuckles turned white, not wanting to lose my grip and fall.
This continued for a few more minutes, the TARDIS gaining speed every second, going faster than I'd ever thought, when I heard the familiar wheezing noise shake throughout the ship, and everything settled down, screeching to a halt. It stopped quite suddenly, causing everything to jerk, making me to lose my grip and slide right into the control panel again. I groaned and rubbed my head, getting up warily and looking up.
"What was that for?" I asked the TARDIS, but nothing happened. Instead, the doors to the TARDIS flew open, forcing me to go outside. I stumbled out, feeling slight vertigo from the events that just took place. Looking around once I stepped out of the TARDIS, my mouth opened widely and my hearts froze.
"Trenzalor," I breathed, looking around. Suddenly, the feeling returned. The feeling that had been haunting me lately. But this time it was stronger than ever.
"It's my time," I stated to myself, my tone determined and sharp. This time, I was sure of it. Slowly, I looked back down at my bow tie once more.
I sighed deeply, before untying it and releasing it from around my neck, and then letting my grip on it go, watching it fall silently to the ground, with a small thump once it hit the ground. I looked down at the bow tie, which lay unmoving in the dirt, before looking back up and walking away.
It was time for me to go.
