A Thief or a Hero? [Adrienette AU] (ON HOLD)

Hawkmoth chuckled as he watched Adrien walk away from the party. "Oh my goodness, he's making this too easy!" He said, throwing his hands in the air for dramatic effect. "Stormy, go and fetch the miraculous. Make sure they don't recognize you."

"Yes Hawkmoth." Stormy jumped from rooftop to rooftop, all the while of being disguised as Adrien Agreste.

Adrien sat in his chair, over looking the several pieces of priceless jewelry. He frowned, remembering the events last night.

"ADRIEN!!" A voice boomed from the lobby of the building he was in. Adrien's head shot up and he looked at his doorway. Nino stumped in, his guards behind him.

"Nino? How did you-?"

"Come with me, now, Adrien," Nino hissed.

Later, Adrien found himself standing in front of the mayor and the city council, his hands cuffed behind his back. The court room was bustling about and filled with indistinct conversations. A loud thud of a mallet calmed everyone down.

"Adrien, for the last time, give us the miraculous," Nino's father demanded.

Adrien groaned. This is probably the fifteenth time they've asked him. "How many times do I have to say it? I don't have it."

"Adrien, quit lying!" Nino exclaimed.

"I'm not! You saw me!" Adrien exclaimed. "I attempted to steal the miraculous, it got away, it arrived in Paris, I saved you from the car, I left the party. That's it."

"Then how do you explain this?" Nino's father asked, holding up Adrien's bag he had taken the night before. It was probably to look like he was using it to the miraculous when he got it, and that's what "he" did.

"How did you get that?" Adrien asked.

"A guard caught you snatching the miraculous and putting it in this bag. But he snatched the miraculous, only to find you had taken them out in the nick of time. So. Where are they?!"

"I was at my hide out after the party! You can ask my men! I have witnesses!" Adrien said. "Please, you got to believe me. I was framed."

"We've had enough of your lies," said a member of the city council. "By order of agreement, we here by accuse you of treason and sentence you to life in prison." 

"Come on, this is a joke, right?" The guards started taking Adrien away. "You've got to be kidding me! Are you people retarded? I didn't do it!"

"Stop!" The courtroom went quiet. Nino stood forward. "If Adrien said he didn't do it, then I believe him. Let Adrien retrieve the stolen miraculous. If he fails, let me take his place."

Adrien stared at Nino in disbelief and pushed his way towards him. "Nino, what are you dong?" Adrien hissed.

"You claim that someone stole the miraculous, so steal it back."

"How am I going to do that without any possible suspects?"

"Have anyone in mind?" Nino asked. Adrien pondered for a moment. He didn't have anyone in mind, other than if one of his men betrayed him. 

"I might have one."
