Act Two: Discovered

Corinne had two boys staring at her. Lyle and Larson. Lyle couldn't believe he was paired up with Corinne for a project that lasted the entire quarter. Larson, who was obviously jealous, threw an evil glare at Lyle. Larson was fairly tall, with frosted tips in his chocolate brown hair. He was the most popular boy in school and the football captain. He dated one of Corinne's friends, Callin. But he used her to attempt to get to Corinne.
          "Today we will be discussing about the Calvin Cycle. You will be creating an animation as your project for the Calvin Cycle." Mr. Carith instructed. The class, actually intrigued, kept on listening. Everett, George and Quinn looked over to Lyle. They felt bad. Really bad. They were trying to calm down and hope for the best for their friend. Corinne Du Valex was a very popular girl. Her parents were successful people, her mother, a lawyer, and her father, a logical professional football coach. She lived in a large mansion, and had it all. Her "destiny" was to date the popular football player, in this case, Larson. She refused.
"Start brainstorming ideas for the project. Animation starts tomorrow. THEY WILL BE DUE AT THE END OF THE QUARTER!" Mr. Carith stated. He chuckled from joking about his rage. Everyone started facing their partner, getting out papers and stating ideas. Lyle got up to "get a tissue" on Mr. Carith's desk but actually talking to his friends.
          "How are you surviving?!" Quinn asked. "I bet she's giving death glares from those evil Emerald green eyes."
          "Give her a chance guys. Maybe she's... uh..." Lyle stuttered.
          "Lyle, what is hiding in your black hair?" George asked. He knew something was fishy. Ever since they were little, George would know what would be wrong with Lyle if his black hair would turn shiny.
"Maybe it's just the lighting George." Lyle lied. He did have been hiding something. Something that would be hard on his parents, and his friends. As Lyle was darting to sit in his seat, the bell rang.
"Thanks a lot Lyle." Corinne sarcastically remarked. "Now we're behind schedule! My mom is gonna kill me!"
"It's not my fault I had friends near me." Lyle replied. Corinne stormed off. He felt guilty. The four boys were headed to lunch.
"I gotta stop by my locker. One sec." Everett stated. He rushed to his locker and put in his combination. 34-22-13. He's has that number memorized as if it was engraved into his brain. As he opened his locker up, he saw an odd keychain. It had an actual diamond cloud on it, with topaz lightning under it. He loved geology when he was homeschooled, and was quick to identify the material. He put the keychain in his pocket. Everett walked off to lunch. The cafeteria consisted of long wooden tables. Of course, everyone sat in their "groups". Spirit Hollow was a small school, with two classes of each grade level. It was a high school. Corinne saw a lonely girl, who appeared to be a freshman, being surrounded by the DFBG, or the Desperate Freshman Boy Gang. They started flirting with her, but she kept on saying no. They wouldn't leave.
"Oh my gosh that poor girl!" Callin exclaimed. "We need to adopt her!"
"We can't just do that." Uliese said. Uliese had a long, wavy, brown to blond ombré. She was fairly tall, and strives to be a fashion designer. "It's hard to adopt a freshman. They get snooty after a while."
"Screw it." Corinne said. "I'm going over there." Corinne stormed over to where the girl was sitting.
"Didn't you hear her boys? She's not interested." Corinne snapped. She has dealt with her grade of the DFBG before, and had harsh memories. The gang backed off, because having an upperclassman snap at you is a really bad thing.
"Are you okay? Those boys are really desperate." Corinne asked. The girl nodded.
"Come sit with the sophomores. We're really nice." Corinne calmly directed. "I'm Corinne. You are-?"
"Griselda. Griselda Northern." The girl said shyly. She felt accepted.
