Chapter 8

Lexa's POV

I woke up in the same position I fell asleep in, with Clarke in my arms. I look over to the other couch opposite from the one Clarke and I were on and I see Octavia and Raven cuddled up in each other. If a random person were to see them in this moment they would say they were clearly in love, I believe they are they just don't know it yet.

I was pulled out of my thoughts when I felt Clarke stir awake.

"Morning" God her morning voice is the sexiest thi- Control yourself dammit.

"Morning sleepyhead"

"How long have you been up?" She asks

"A few minutes, should we wake them up?" I look over to Octavia and Raven.

"No let them have their moment" Clarke still hasn't moved from her position, her body pressed so close to mine, her head on my chest.

We laid there for a few minutes, just enjoying each other's warmth when my phone rings. I hear Clarke let out an annoyed sigh as she sits up and hands me my phone, I mumble a thanks and answer without looking who it is.

"Hello?"

"Hey Lexie, it's dad" My dad, Marcus and my mother, Anya home for a few days. They are almost always gone on business meetings or something to do with the family business. The business, it is called "Trikru Tech", was creating and selling different types of technology all over the world. I've always hated when my parents would bring up me working for Trikru, I have never held a passion for business or politics. My dad then added "I know we just got home a few days ago but-"

I cut him off "dad no" I know what he was trying to tell me, he was trying to leave again. When my parents leave its like they have a completely different life, a life where they aren't parents, they are just business owners, and their entire life revolves around that company.

Clarke gave me a 'are you okay?' look and I just nodded. She stood up and made her way to the kitchen, I also stood up and walked to her bedroom so I wouldn't wake up Raven and Octavia.

"Lex please, just listen. Your mother and I need to go to Miami to close a huge deal, a deal we've been trying to close for months"

"Why can't you send someone else?!" I was on the verge of tears because I know when they leave I won't see them for weeks.

"You know why Lexa, please this is the last time for a long time, once we close this deal your mother and I will be home for a long time"

"Dad you don't need to go, send someone else. We have enough money for 50 life times" I couldn't hold the tears back anymore.

"I promise this is the last time Alexandria, we are leaving this afternoon, please come and say goodbye to us before we leave. I love you-" I hung up before he could say anything else. I was furious with them. They've missed out on so much of my life all because of that stupid business. I couldn't care less if they get the deal or not.

There was a few soft knocks on the door, I didn't bother wiping the tears from my face because I knew it was Clarke. "Come in". The door opens slowly and I turn around to face her.

"You alright?"

"I'm fine" she walks up to me and wipes the tears from my face.

"I know you, Lex, you're not fine" Clarke engulfs me in a hug, I don't hesitate to wrap my arms around her waist and put my head in her neck, breathing in her scent. After a few peaceful moments we reluctantly pull away. "What's wrong?" She once again wipes away a few stray tears.

"My parents are leaving again, they won't be back for a few weeks."

"I'm sorry Lex"

"It's fine. I'm just tired of them leaving" I was, I was really tired of them leaving. Clarke hugs me tightly once more. This time she doesn't let go for what seems like hours.

Clarke's POV
-A few hours later-

Lexa didn't go to say goodbye to her parents, honestly I'm kinda worried about her. She has never been so angry and upset about them leaving before. I've only been close to Lexa around a month and in that time Lexa's parents have left a lot. Raven and Octavia left earlier, when I tried bringing up the subject of them they just blushed and left as quickly as possible. There is definitely something going on between them.

It's about 3pm and Lexa is cuddled up in my arms, we are watching Grey's Anatomy. We've been like this for a few hours, I'm doing everything I can to try and cheer her up.

"Clarke?"

"Yea Lex?"

"Thank you"

"For what?"

"For everything" I smiled even though I don't what she was thanking me for.

"No problem"

We went back to watching tv. Lexa's head is on my chest, her body pressed up against mine. My hands mindlessly playing in her hair.
