One More Chance

Chapter 3: Starting Over Again

"Hey there John..." she said. "I know you probably don't remember me but I can help you to do so!" she said next. "I...do I know you?" he replied. "I'm Nancy, and you are John". "Wait what?" he asks. "Oh never mind..." she leaves the room after she says this. She thinks to herself that she should leave him in the hospital for a week and go back to check on him.

A week later

"Hello? Anyone here?" she enters the room to find no one there. She approaches the doctor and asks where the patient was. "Oh, you're looking for John Kimberly? He left 2 days ago since he already recovered from his accident". "Hmmm, would you know where he lives, doctor?". "I would but it will take some time to get his information sheet from the archives". "Oh, its alright doctor, I can find him on my own". Of course she lied, she never knew where he lived then a fragment of a lost memory resonated somewhere in her head, but she couldn't seem to remember it. She decides to wait a month later

A month later

Hi Nancy! Her phone buzzed. She picks it up to see a message from an unknown number. "Who are you?" she asks. "Oh I'm the guy who you helped save from my accident, my name is John!". She gasps, she thought he forgot about her, turns out that he didn't forget. "Well then, hello John, nice to talk to you again" she replies. "Nice to talk to you again Nancy, wanna meet downtown for some coffee?" he asks. She gasps one more time. She can't believe that he's asking her out for coffee...again. It was like when they first met. She finally remembers that memory! She was meeting a client then it turns out that that was him. She replies immediately "Sure, I'll meet you in 20 minutes". She arrives at the café and sits down at a nearby seat while waiting for John.

10 minutes later

"Hi Nancy! Its so good to meet you again" he says. She was puzzled on how different he looked like from before. His black tee was replaced by a Paris themed shirt and his ripped jeans were replaced by dark blue jeans. "Uh, hi!" she snaps back to the present. "So, how are you?" he asks. "I'm fine, but shouldn't I be asking you that since you were the one who got in an accident?" she replied. "Oh, I'm feeling way much better since last time" he answers.

15 minutes of questions and answers later

"Whew, that was a lot to take in but I think I got it all" he says with sigh. "Oh, haha, sorry" she apologizes. "Oh, no, its okay you don't need to apologize. I really needed that". "Oh alright, so since we're done drinking our coffee, why don't we take this conversation down the road?" she asks. "Sure!" he exclaims. They walk together on the street and they continue with their conversation. As they were walking down a certain street, he put his arm around her shoulders, she blushed but quickly hid her face. He noticed her blush anyways, he continues doing that until it was turning dark already. "Thanks John, I had a good time with you" she says. "I also had a good time with you Nancy, I hope we get to do this more often" he replies. "Sure, call me anytime then lets plan!" she says with enthusiasm. "Alright, now I gotta go now, bye!" he says at last" "Bye!" she says also. They walk opposite sides going back to there house. And so they continued their outdoor activities together, they stayed at the same office and they hiked together. In her head, she finally was able to find her one true love that she wants for the rest of her life.

And thats how your dad and I fell in love, kids. Their mom says. "But mom, you haven't told us on how you guys got married" Their son James replied. "Oh that's easy James, we got married at a beach side and my highlight from our wedding was when we kissed and the sun was setting. "Aww, I hope I get to find the right guy for me too, mommy!" her daughter Emily says. "I hope also hope Emily but in the future alright?" she says in an overprotective mommy voice. "Of course mom!" she exclaims. "Well, alright kiddos, its your sleeping time already" John says. "But dad, we wanna hear more stories" they said. "I'm sorry guys, but you have to sleep already" he says again. "Oh alright dad" they both say. The two kids got up and went to their bedrooms.

A few minutes later

"Dear? Wanna head outside?" John asks. "Sure!" she replies. They go to their balcony and they see the beautiful gleaming moon and the shining stars above. He takes her hand and they dance. The girl finally felt safe. The boy was finally happy. They both got what they wanted, eternal love. And so they danced the whole night through.
