Infinity And Beyond

Caitlin and I have been together for officially six months. Six months isn't that big of a deal to regular couples , but it is to me. I'm thinking of doing something special for her . I was thinking of proposing, but I'm not sure yet. I had an eventful date set up . Dinner , movie , and at the end we would drive around looking at the Christmas lights. I found a few rings that I know she will love , but I'm afraid she'll say no.

Caitlin POV

Barry and I have been together for six months now . It seems like just yesterday he asked me out . I got him a cellphone case with a lightning bolt on it . He's been talking about needing one for a while , so I got him one . It's really nothing special, but I know he'll like it. I didn't know what else to get him.

I walk into Star Labs briskly to my computer. I greeted Cisco with a smile and went to work . The meta human alert sounded . I texted Barry about it , since he was at CCPD. I see him flash into his suit and zoom to the location. "Alright guys I'm here ." Barry notifies us.

Barry's POV

I saw the meta who appeared to be a young man in his mid twenties. "Sir what exactly do you think your doing ?" I ask in a ready stance. "I'm just trying to figure out my powers . I didn't mean to cause any trouble ." He says innocently. "What do I do? We rarely find a good meta." I ask through the intercom. "Maybe we can help him get control of his powers." Caitlin suggested. "Okay I'll run him to the lab if he wants ." I say . "I like you also have powers . My team and I would like to help you out . You see it's a rare occurrence that we find a good meta . " I say waiting for a response. "How do I know I can trust you?" The meta questions. "I have your best interest at heart man . I'm just trying to help. So what shall it be?" I ask politely. "Fine I'll go with you." He caves . I quickly run him to Star labs and put him down. "What's your name?" I ask . "John." He states . "Guys this is John ." I say . "This is Caitlin , our brilliant doctor. " I say as she walks forwards and shakes his hand . "Cisco our technology guy ." I say while they shake hands . I step aside until I'm needed .

Caitlin POV

"I'll just be doing a few tests on you , but only if that's okay with you?" I ask politely. "Go right ahead ." He says with a smile . I begin to start several tests on him . After drawing the blood samples and testing them , I wait for the results. After a few minutes of awkward silence the beep of the ready results sounded . I check them and they say he has some sort of lightning ability . "So according to the test results you have a form of electricity running through your body . Maybe want to test them out?" I ask . "Electricity that's cool. Sure I'll see if I can use them." He said walking to the other side of the room . "Wait for Barry to come ." I say . "Barry can you come here and help out John?" I yell."Sure ." Barry yells back. A second later he arrives .

Barry's POV

I took a while , but he finally got control of his powers . I gave him the run down on how not to use his powers for bad , and I sent him on his way . I also mentioned if he ever needs help we're always here . "You think he'll be fine out there?" Caitlin asks . "I think he'll be just fine ." I say with a smile . "Cisco text me if we get any other alerts ." I yell . "Will do!" Cisco yells back . "Got to go back to CCPD?" Caitlin asks . "No my shift ended when I got the alert . Are you free tonight?" I ask hoping she would say yes . "Yeah , what did you have in mind?" She questioned. "Oh nothing much." I say teasingly. "So are we going on a date tonight ." She asks in confusion. "Yes , I have something big planned!" I say with excitement. "Really what do you have planned?" She asks with curiosity. "You'll see tonight. I'll pick you up later." I say . I head back home to get ready .

Caitlin's POV

I take some time to get ready and watch some TV while I wait . He didn't tell me what time he was picking me up. A few episodes later , a knocking sound pervaded throughout my apartment. "Who is it?" I stupidly ask. I walk up to the window and peek through . You can never be too safe . "It's a robber!" Barry says sarcastically. "Alright the valuable stuff is in the back , but he quick my boyfriend will be here soon." I say playing along . "How long have you two been together?" He asks . "Six moths today." I say with a smile . "Well he must be the luckiest guy in the world to have you."He says . "Happy six month anniversary!" He says handing me a bouquet of roses . "Happy six months anniversary to you too." I say giving him a kiss . I go inside and put the roses in a vase . "It's nothing much really , but I got you this." I say handing him the phone case . "Thank you so much! You remember me saying I wanted this! Thank you!" He said followed by a kiss . He took out his phone and put the case on his phone . "Shall we?" He says holding out an arm . "We shall." I say linking my arm with his . He walks me to his car and opens the door for me .

We finally arrived at the destination. I recognized it as my favorite restaurant. "My favorite restaurant!" I say with cheer. "Let's go."He said with a smile .During the date I ordered my usual , as did Barry . We shared a chocolate molten lava cake . After we finished we walked out into the frigid weather. "The nights not over yet!" Barry says with excitement. "What's next?" I ask out of curiosity. "The movies." He says starting the engine. We arrive at the movies to see a recent popular movie that everyone's been raving about . "I hope it's good as everyone says." I say taking my seat . "Yeah me too." He says . The movie starts and I put my head on Barry's shoulder . The movie got boring at points , but overall a great movie . "Ready for another adventure?" He asks with enthusiasm. I was a bit exhausted, but I thought his enthusiasm was so adorable. "Sure!" I reply . "Okay so for the last part we're going to drive around looking at Christmas lights . I know how much you love Christmas." He says turning the Christmas music on . "Tonight has been really eventful! Thank you Barry .
I really am the luckiest person alive." I say holding his free hand . "It's me who's lucky." He smiles back . "I can't believe it's been six months already. " I say realizing how long it's been . "Yeah time does fly when you're in love ." He said . We have peaceful silence and admire the beauty of the Christmas lights .

Barry's POV

I look into Caitlin's eyes and see the Christmas lights in her yes . Wow she's beautiful. I debate whether I should propose or not . As the light trail faded away , the daylight did as well . The trail ended near the park. "Up for a walk in the park." I ask . It was cold out , but I was going to offer her my jacket when we went out . "Sure ." She said . She got out of the car and I offered her my jacket . She accepted and we held hands walking through the park. "You mean so much to me ." I say with a smile . "And you me so much to me too." She responds . "I love you ." She continued. "I love you too." I say realizing this would be he perfect chance to propose. "It might be too early , but I don't care because I just want you to know how much you mean to me ." I say getting on one knee .she gasps and smiles ear to ear . "I've loved you since the day we met , I just didn't know it yet . I want you to be mine forever , Infinity and beyond . I want everyone to know that we are meant to be and nothing can change that , so Caitlin Snow will you marry me?"I ask getting the ring box out of my pocket . I was so nervous my hands began to shake. I opened the ring box the wrong way and it fell out  . I mentally curse myself for being so clumsy. I frantically search for it , but it was not use without light . After a few seconds of searching she bends down and puts her hand on mine . "Yes." She says with a smile . We then share a kiss I will never forget. After the kiss we look for it together and we find it. I put it on her finger . "You're mine Caitlin Snow. How do you feel about that?" I question. "I feel like I'm so lucky to have you. Now you're a wedding away from being stuck with me." She laughs . "I can't wait." I say walking back to the car hand in hand with her.
