CHAPTER 1.

“What do you mean? Is she okay?”

“Yeah, Just… Being… Xena, I guess.” I said. Then Kayla and I said bye, as we went our separate ways to 6th period.

“Finally, School is over!” I yelled as the bell rang. I was walking out of the G street gate when, I saw Kayla standing at her usual place on the fence.

“Hey Kayla.” I said, as I approached her. She leaned off the fence, walked towards me, spun me around and made me keep walking.

“Why are we turning around?” I asked, very confused. “Cause I need to talk to you. It’s about… Xena.” She said. “What’s up?” I wondered, a little worried by the tone of her voice.

“She didn’t show up for 6th period.” She said, worried. I looked at her with a horrified face, “Oh my gosh! No way!” I yelled sarcastically, “So what? Xena always has doctor appointments, you know that. What if she just had to go?”

“But I know Xena and her mom. Her mom never makes her skip drama! Xena would refuse! You know that too. Xena hasn’t missed one day of drama since 7th grade! And today she was supposed to perform an improvisation, she would NEVER miss that! NEVER.” She said frantically, waving her hands everywhere.

“Kayla, relax. So what if Xena missed drama one time out of almost two years? It doesn’t mean something is wrong, chill.” I replied. I tried my best to sound calm and comfort her at the same time. “You’re right. I can’t believe I’m freaking out like this! I’m sure she’ll be back in school tomorrow, and have a perfect explanation for everything.” “Of course she will.” I said. Then we waved goodbye and she left her separate way. But I didn’t tell her what I saw Xena doing, but I’m sure something is going on here. And something bad.

But this is a mystery I must solve. “Oh well”, I muttered to myself, as I started walking home, ignoring the situation. Then I started thinking of things I would find funny, like Xena foaming from the mouth or something. I started to laugh out loud, while everyone on the street stared at me.

“BITCH.” I turned around to see a familiar face, Xena. Ironic, I thought. As I turned around, she ran to me and said in a whisper, “You didn’t hide the body, you dumbass!” Oh crap. “Did everyone notice!?” I asked. “Of course they did! How couldn’t they!?” Xena remarked. The next thing I know, Kayla was sprinting back from the way she was headed, with a pissed off look on her face, “BRISA, WHAT THE FUCK!? You said you would hide it!” Kayla screamed.

“Hide what?” asked Ms. Burton, the science teacher.

“My… new sweater.” I answered. Ms. Burton looked at me suspiciously, and when she checked my backpack (free of incriminating evidence, of course), she found my sweater. I was confused, but I smiled and put my stuff away.

“Hehe” I chuckled. That’s the good part of being a r… uhm… nothing. Just not a dumbass.

“Well, I see…  DIRTY WHORES!” Xena yelled from across the hall. Ms. Burton ran to her side, as she began to twitch on the floor violently, screaming out weird things like “Potato salad” and “Uranus”. Ms. Burton slowly dragged her body into the class, as her muffled screams echoed through the hall.
