Draco's POV
"Finally the day was over!" I saw as Blaise and I walk down to dinner. Earlier today, Blaise had told me where him and Pansy had been off to when they were late to class.
*Flashback*
"Mr. Zabini. Ms. Parkinson. How nice of you to join us." Professor McGonagall says without looking up. "Please find a seat." Blaise sits next to me and with a sour look Pansy goes off to a table on the other side of the room. "Where were you, mate?" I whisper quietly. "Pansy and I where off at the shrieking shack." He says with a mischievous glint in his eye. I roll my eyes and return to trying to transfigure a hat in to a flower.
*End of flashback*
Lets just say that I have a very good idea what they were up to. I shiver at the thought and think 'At least its not me'. Blaise and me head over to the Slytherin table and right when we sit down, Professor McGonagall stands up. "Today has been a very productive day back! To add the the excitement and fun, some old friends will be returning back to Hogwarts! Please welcome, this years sixth and seventh year students of Beauxbatons and Durmstrang!" Just like our fourth year, the Beauxbatons and Durmstrang students come in with a show. Some faces we recognize. Some we don't. "Viktor! Fleur! Bill! Victoire!" Hermione yells from the other side of the hall. Jealousy overcomes me when I remember the Yule Ball. The Beauxbaton and Durmstrang students find a house table and sit at it. Beuxbatons at Ravenclaw and Durmstrang at Slytherins, just like last time. Professor McGonagall then stands up again and speaks to all the students, "You guys may be wondering why we have invited the other magical schools to join us. Last year we lost many people. In honor of the people we lost, the Ministry has decided to have a friendly contest against the magic schools. Sort of like the Triwizard Tournament we had four years ago. In order to enter, you must pass an obstacle course so we know you have what it takes to survive. Also, on the 22nd of December we will have The first ever, Memento Ball. That is all, now dig in!" The second Professor McGonagall stops talking, the whole hall erupts in talking. I'm excited for the ball. 'Maybe I'll ask Hermione.'
Hermione's POV
"Fleur! Viktor! Bill! Victoire!" I yell. They didn't tell me that I'd see them this year! McGonagall starts talking about a contest and a ball. The Memento Ball. To remember all the ones we lost. Finally Professor McGonagall stops talking and food appears on our table. "Mmm. Escargot!" I say. Ron looks at me and scrunches up his nose. With a shrug and a point of my fork I say, "Broaden your horizon, Ronald." With that comment everyone laughs and digs in to their own food. Once everyone is done eating, the food disappears and Professor McGonagall sends us off to our dorms for the night.
