Finally an update! I know I have been sort of neglecting this story but only because I know that it's near its ending. Maybe just 3 or 4 more chapters. There are just some unanswered questions that needs to be addressed and then we are done with the story of Nico and Joan. Thank you for continually reading this story.

Strong and suggestive language used. Thanks.

======================

Joan was discharged from the hospital the next day, barring the condition that she takes 6 weeks off from work since she still needs time to recover from her concussion. RJ and the emergency doctor both confirmed that the Propafol given to her by Lianna didn't affect the fetus because it actually didn't stay in her system long enough. They figured Lianna must've given her a miniscule dose basing on her height and weight. Which, thank goodness, was a total blessing in disguise.

Nicolas couldn't seem to wipe the stupid grin on his face since it was confirmed that Joan was definitely pregnant. 8 weeks! That means she got pregnant as soon as they started being intimate. Joan had confessed that she missed a few birth control pills in those days and when she didn't get her period last month, she attributed it to stress so she thought nothing of it.

Joan wasn't too sure at first how she felt about being pregnant. Initially, she was scared because she wasn't sure if Nicolas wanted to have children. They haven't really sat down and talked about having children. They just got engaged for crying out loud! But then, once she told him, he's been wearing the most stupid smile on his face and that was actually enough. It was borderline creepy if you ask me. He slept with that smile and he woke up with that smile. Joan just had to shake her head at her fiance's ridiculousness.

Oh and another thing, Nicolas had been very attentive to her needs that it was starting to irritate Joan. Just this morning for instance. Joan was about to head to the bathroom to get herself ready for discharge when he barged in and started taking over. Like literally! He turned the shower on and started taking her clothes off. Joan was not amused!

"NICO! What are you doing?"

"Helping you get ready. I don't want you to strain yourself." Nicolas huffed.

"Nico. Babe. Listen to me. I'm just pregnant. Not an invalid. My bones aren't broken. I can do these myself" Joan explained patiently.

"Just pregnant? Just Pregnant?!? You are pregnant with my child, woman!" Nicolas responded affronted.

"NICOLAS DYNN MENDOZA! ENOUGH! Get out of the bathroom. Wait outside until I'm done!" Joan yelled with matching hand gestures, her Italian blood surfacing.

Nicolas was quiet frankly taken aback from Joan's outburst! He didn't really expect her to kick him out of the bathroom. He stood there for a minute and Joan took advantage of his shock that she gently but firmly pushed him outside the door. By the time Nicolas realized what had happened and he was about to turn around, he found himself facing the door being slammed in his face. He tried the handle once again but this time it was locked. So he had no choice but sit and wait patiently until Joan came back out after 30 minutes had passed.

Joan will stay at Nicolas's apartment for the first week or so and Joan only agreed because the neurologist had warned her that due to her concussion, there might be instances where she would get dizzy or totally loose consciousness without any warning. Nicolas actually insisted that she stay with him for the whole six weeks.

They left the hospital at around 11:00 in the morning. They had to stop at the police precinct for Joan to give the investigators her official statement regarding on what happened that night. Everyone else involved have given their statements. Nicolas didn't want to do it but Joan insisted that they might as well get it over with.
