Blah blah blah. All I could think about was the words Destin said. It was like an echo. I have to talk to him.
Bring! The bell rang. All the people in my class sprang up, but I knew Destin had to stay because he was new.
"Hey what are you doing here?" Destin asked.
"I wanted to talk to you. Why did you say that? I don't know you, I don't know what you are thinking, I don't know my life anymore!" I cried out.
"Shh, don't worry. Just go home today, then you'll know everything again."
I walked home in the rain. I never paused to take my umbrella out or start to run. Soon my phone rang.
"Hello?" I asked.
"Payge! Where are you?"
"Mom, I'm walking home."
"I thought you were kidnapped in this rain! Hurry up, I have to talk to you."
The line went dead. I snapped the flip-phone shut. I walked at little bit faster and reached my house after 5 minutes.
"Payge, this is Destin our new neighbor." my mother said.
"Yeah, I know him from school." I replied.
"Well, about school," my mother hesitated.
"You need to be transferred to a special school for legendary kids." Destin finished for her.
"So what's my power?" I asked. I've heard about these people from somewhere.
"We don't know yet."
"If only your father was here." Mother interrupted. He knew.
Father knew, but he isn't here. They got into a huge fight and he left. Did he leave because of me?
