I finished putting the dishes away and made dinner.
After we where finished, I heard my mom. "Lindsey, come here" she yelled from her room.
"Coming!" I say as I walk upstairs.
"When I was shopping I saw this, and it made me think of you." She says as she pulls out a very pretty necklace with an amethest crystal as the charm.

"OH MY GOD MOM, ITS BEAUTIFUL!" I say
"Come here, I'll put it on you." She said with a smile.
"Thank you mom!" I said as she clasped it behind my neck. "Your welcome. I want you to keep it close to you. "
"I promise." I say and hug her. "Ok well, goodnight. Love you! See you in the morning."
"Love you too!" I said, walking into my bedroom.
It was kinda cold in there, so I put on a pair if yoga pants, a long sleeved shirt, socks, and white slippers. Then I put my hair in a messy bun with a few curls hanging out. I pined them back with couple of bobby pins.
It was now violently storming outside, so I thought it would be a good time to read peter pan.
I crawled into bed, turnd on my lamp, and took out my book.
As soon as I opened it, my lamp flickered out. I groaned and went to the hallway to get a new light bulb.
I reached for the switch and flipped it up. The light didn't come on. Oh no...
I went to my bedroom window and saw that no lights where on. Not even street lights. Suddenly the silhouette of my mother appeared in the doorway.
" Its a blackout. The whole town is out of power. Help me find some candles." She said.
I found five candles and a box of matches. I gave four candles to my mom, and kept one candle in the box of matches to myself.
I lit the candle, put it on my nightstand, and got back into bed. Finally I can read my book. I open it and begin to read chapter 1.

I awoke to the sound of thunder. I sat up and looked around. My candle was still lit. Woah, good thing I woke up.
Before I blew it out, I picked up my book ,bookmarked it, and put it on the table. Then I check the time. 2:22 a.m.? How long was I sleeping? I blew out the candle and lay down .
While trying to go back to sleep, I started thinking about the parts of the book that I had already read. Wendy Darling and her brothers , Nana their nanny.. Who also happens to be a dog, in the boy at the window that their mother had seen earlier that day.
I smiled at the thought of Peter Pan. "Man, I wish this was real..."
Suddenly a large bolt of lightning struck,lighting up my whole room for a split-second.
And in that split-second, I could see what appeared to be a human shaped shadow with glowing yellow eyes!
I gasped with disbelief. And as the light went away, my bedroom windows flew open with a loud crash and I froze.
