"Good morning Yamamoto-kun!!" I joyful said.

He kept walking, but I knew he acknowledged my presence.

"I hope you got sleep last night. You always seemed tired. It kind of worries me." I walked be side him, trying to start some small talk.

I wonder what he does at night to always be so tired? Is he stressed out? He might be with those dark circles, it's terrible. What could stress him out? School? Family issues? Or....

"Wait. Unless it's my fault," I stop and begin to panic,

"Am I annoying you?" He stops and turns slightly.

"I am aren't I? Sorry..." I get a small glimpse of his eyes, and see them look away. He took a tiny step forward before proceeding his original speed.

There he goes. I can barely tell if I press on a topic too far. I usually have at least one person to tell me....

"But it's also your fault too...."

Almost immediately, he stops.

"I-I mean, I'm kind of the type of person who just keeps going unconsciously. So you have to tell me when I'm annoying."

"B-But what am I saying?! Haha, we kind of just met, so..." I start fidgeting around.

"Uh, I'm just going to go ahead, I-I'll see you in a bit." I rush ahead, getting some distance between us.

"Good morning Akiko!"

I look up ahead and see Mitsuo walking towards me.

"Oh, morning Mitsuo."

"You okay? You seem to be in a rush."

"Oh, it's nothing." I shrug it off and we walk to our classes together.

"You guys MUST be dating!! You two always talk to each other!!"

"Yeah, like ALLLLL the time!!"

"It's nothing like that. As we said before, we're childhood friends who missed eachother. That's all there is to it." I objected.

Sadly, it wasn't anything more...

"Hmm, maybe for now there's nothing. But watch, later on, there WILL be something." One girl stated confidently and many others nod their head.

I couldn't say anything about this because it's unpredictable. Maybe something will happen.

Maybe it won't.

So I kept my mouth shut and just listened to everyone talk about how their days were going.

"Want to have lunch with us?"

"Sorry guys, not today. I've got some books I need to return and I plan to look at some more."

"Oh really? Are you sure you're not just saying that so you can have lunch with Haruta-kun~"

"He's got some business with the Student Council." I shake my head at these persistent people. I wave to them and walk away to the library.

I turn my books in and look through the different genres of books

Mitsuo said some of Uncle's books are here, I wonder what other types of books he writes...

I stopped in the psychology shelf and see his name. I pull out his book and flip through it.

There's so much written about the mind and the feelings....this is amazing.

I put the book back and continue looking.

I eventually found a plethora of his fictional books, most of them being award winning.

I read some of the blurbs and find myself clinging to the small passage of text.

"My uncle is amazing...a genius in fact. I should borrow some of his copies at home..."

My stomach quietly grumbles.

"I guess I should at least eat some of my lunch...

I begin to make my way out, but not before passing a familiar figure laying their head down on a table, books opened and scattered.

"Yamamoto-kun?" I slowly approach him, doing my best to not startle him.

"Yamamoto-kun, you shouldn't rest in such a place. Please take proper care of yourself."

I stood beside him, hands on my hips.

He grunts.

"Well if you're that tired, I'll help you to the infirmary. You need to sleep properly. Especially since you don't seem to get much shut eye."

I examine the books around him. I don't understand most of them, but I notice a few.

"Is this what I think it is...?" I pick up a slightly thick textbook and read through some of the pages.

"This is college leveled math..."

I flip through more pages.

"Do you by chance know this?"

I wait for an answer.

".....Mmm..."

I put the textbook down and assume the rest of the books are also college level.

"You really are full of surprises...."

"Okay, come on. Let's get you to the infirmary."

He still sat there.

"Come on Yamamoto-kun. The sooner we get there, the more sleep you can get." I persist.

Finally, he lifts his head and glares at me.

I stare back.

"What? You think your deadly glare of yours is going to scare me away? Well too bad. I'm not like those other girls who like you for your face. I actually want to get to know you. I'll be honest with you, at first I wanted to get you to talk for the fun of it."

He glares at me even harder.

"But it's different now. I think you're a pretty interesting guy. Unlike those girls, I plan to stick around. So if you think I'm being annoying, sorry. I thought I could leave you alone if you told me to, but I changed my mind. I want to know who you really are. I care about you. And I'm not letting you go. So get your ass up and let's get you to the infirmary so you can sleep properly!"

He stares at me for a moment longer before pushing himself up. He gets up and makes his way to the exit. Watching him from behind, I can see him wobble, probably from getting up so fast. I walk next to him and put his arm around my neck.

I can feel his eyes look down at me, but I continue on.
