chapter two;
I woke up more tired than usual and realized it was 9 a.m. I freaked out and tried getting ready but my body was so weak, I could hardly even get out of bed.
I looked in my mirror where I saw I was breaking out and that my hair was terribly oily and messy. I smelt gross and I looked sickly. I slid back into my bed and unlocked my phone. I called Gabby.
After a few rings, she picked up. "Stevey, where are you?" She asks.
"I'm not coming today.. I feel terrible." I tell her.
"Oh my fucking god. Steven Alexander, You have missed too many days.. They are going to get you." She yells. I roll my eyes and casually put a piece of candy in my mouth. "Look, I know you and your parents don't have a good relationship but, It's going to get worse if you make them go to court. I'm just saying." She hangs up and I rise up from my pillow and sit in my bed.
"I'm not fucking going to court." I whisper to myself. I throw my phone down on the ground and lay back down.
《two hours later》
I woke up from a loud car engine and quickly looked out my window to see my dad was pulling out of the driveway. I saw my mom and little sister in the car as well and got extremely happy.
I ran out of my room and went to the kitchen and warmed me up some leftover pizza. I sat down on the couch and turned on the television, eating my slice of pizza.
I hear the doorbell ring and I freaked out a little. I quickly get up and look out the peep hole. It was some scary-looking lady. I refused to open the door and stayed quiet until she left.
As soon as she left, I went outside and saw a letter on the wall that said 'To the parents of Steven Alexander Martin' and I immidiately grabbed the letter and ran inside.
I walk to my bedroom, ripping the letter open.
It wrote:
To the parents of Steven Alexander Martin,
Your son has been put under complete out of school suspension for two months due to his inactivity in school. If his inactivity still continues, you, as his parents, will be put under court maintance. Until then, please make sure your son understands this.
thank you,
pierra monroeI freaked out and ripped the letter into little pieces and threw it in my trash can. I started crying.
《after school finished》
I woke up from a nap and heard my parents talking in the living room about political issues. I rubbed my head and put a shirt on.
I looked over at the clock and saw that school had just ended which meant Gabby would probably be calling soon.
Sure enough, my phone started ringing and it was Gabby.
"Stevey!!! Im so pissed at you. Literally, we had partners in World History and I was stuck with smelly Fred!" gabby says angrily.
"I was smelly today, pretty sure smelly Fred would have been better than me." I say annoyed.
"Okay seriously Steven, im getting worried about you. You always seem so upset at school and you never come. What's going on?" she actually seems worried but I can't get any words out. "Stevey?" she breaks the long pause
"Yeah?" I say quietly.
"Hello? What's going on with you? Im getting so worried. You can tell me anything."
"Gabby I gotta go. Ill talk to you later." I hang up without hearing her answer back.
I threw my phone down and changed my clothing into something comfortable and clean. I lay in my bed and for some unknown reason start to cry.
