Chapter Two
Meredith's POV:
I woke up with a huge smile on my smile. Today was the day of my date with Cameron. I hopped out of bed and checked my phone to see what time it was: 9:45. I hopped out of bed and walked to my closet to pick out my outfit for the date. If I waited till the last minute, I knew I would put on the first thing I saw.
After 20 minutes on debating what to wear, I finally chose to wear black pants with my white Nirvana shirt paired with my white converse. It wasn't overdressed fancy nor was it underdressed. After all, this was a date at the arcade. Which means it's supposed to be casual. I laid my clothes on my desk and walked to my phone. I unplugged it from my charger and plugged it into my iHome playing Counting Stars by OneRepublic. I went into my restroom and brushed my teeth. After I brushed my teeth, I hopped into the shower.
After my long shower, I went downstairs to eat breakfast. Abby was already downstairs making us breakfast as usual.
"Where's mum?"
"Working," she said, making me sigh. Abigail was like a mom to me because our mum was always working. I don't blame her though, after our dad left us, she's been working her butt off.
"Food's ready," she said serving me a plate. She had made pancakes with bacon, my favorite. "I made you your favorite, since today is a special day for you. My little girl's growing up so fast," she said, pretending to wipe a tear from her eye. We both laughed and ate our breakfast.
"We need some sister bonding time before you go for your date," Abby said, once we finished our breakfast.
"Definitly," I said nodding.
"Meet me in my room. I'm just going to wash our dishes."
"Is it okay if I do my homework too? I don't want to do it tomorrow."
"Sure," she said smiling.
I walked up the stairs to my room and got my backpack that was beside my door. I walked to Abby's room and plopped onto her hammock that was in the corner of her room. I took out my homework and started doing it.
"I knew you were going to lay there," Abby said, startling me.
"I wish I had one of these in my room."
"There's no where to put it."
"So it's in here." She nodded, and sat down on her bed.
"Mere, I need to tell you something, but you have to promise you can't tell anyone, even Cam,"
"I promise,"
"So you know about Devin being-"
"Yes I know," I said cutting her off.
"So yesterday, when I went to his house, I went up to his room and I heard him singing."
"Devin. Singing?"
"My thoughts exactly,"
"Do you remember how it goes?"
"Some of it,"
"Spill!" I said dropping my stuff on the floor.
"Did they ever hold each other tight like us, did they ever fight like us, you and I, we don't want to be like them, nothing can come between, you and I, not even the Gods above, can separate the two of us, no nothing can come between us. I can only remember that part. But you should've heard him sing! He's amazing, and he knows how to play guitar! I never knew that!"
