Heath couldn't sleep that night. Christella had never returned from any sick things the Damien's had ever done to her in that state. There hadn't seemed to be any blood, but Christella was visibly scared.
It infuriated Heath to no end when Christella told him not to do anything, and although in her mind it made sense for just one of them to get hurt, in his, it made none at all. He was older and stronger, but still, that apparently had no meaning.
He lay there staring at Christella sleeping peacefully. It was the only time there wasn't fear etched on her face.
"Please — stop —"
Heath was sure Christella was asleep, but somehow the voice came from her.
"Stella?" He whispered, shaking her awake.
"Heath." She replied.
"You were talking in your sleep."
"I was? Sorry."
"Don't be sorry. Try to get back to sleep."
And she did. Christella was truly exhausted, she couldn't keep her eyes open for long at all.
Not long now until the two could leave this place.
