Pens and pencils, and books galore, Christella seemed to be entranced by all the different things in the store. She had never really been in a bookstore of this size, and to know that she was allowed to get anything she wanted blew her mind.

"Here's your booklist," Nora handed her a sheet of paper. "Grab a basket and get everything you need."

"I've got no money to pay for it though." Christella looked up at the blue hairled woman confusedly.

"Oh, right," Nora dug into her back pocket, "this, is for you to spend on school supplies and this is to spend on anything else that catches your eye."

"But Nora, isn't this your money?"

"Nope. Your parents. But you two have access to it. Heath and I just went and got the money out now."

"Cool. Thanks a lot Nora, I owe you."

Looking down at the booklist in her hands, Christella identified the Elbrus Academy emblem. Her eyes trailed down to the list of things she needed.

Students attending in 1991 will need to purchase;

Christella looked over to where the notebooks were.

"Hey Christella, want some company?" Gia came over to the red headed girl.

"Sure," Christella smiled. "Hey Gia, didn't you say your family have gone to Elbrus for years?"

"I did say that."

"Tell me more about the school. I don't know anything about it."

"Sure. So pretty much, on the train to Elbrus, you take this quiz. It's in each compartment. You answer questions about what you value, and thing like that. From there, you get placed into different houses based on similar mindsets, they're named after mountains. Kinabalu, Rainier, Everest and Olympus. Everest values adventurers and nerve. Rainier values intelligence and creativity. Kinabalu values ambition and resourcefulness. Olympus value kindness and tolerance. You go to class in your house and year level."

"Cool. Are your family all in the same house?"

"Sure are. The Wilone's are known for being in Everest."

"That's awesome."

Counting the notebooks in her basket one last time, Christella went up to the counter to pay for her supplies.

After Christella had gotten her uniform fitted and they were all sure both Heath and Christella had everything they needed, Nora lead the children back to the car.

"Heath, Christella, I bought you both a present." Nora handed a rectangular wrapped box to the messy haired boy and the curly haired girl.

"What is it?" Christella asked.

"I dunno, unwrap it and let me know." Nora smiled.

Christella gently tore the paper. She had never gotten a gift before, and she didn't want to be too rough with it in fear that she would break it.

"What —" Heath was the first to realise what it was. "Nora, why did you —"

The rest of Heath's words were cut off by a shrill squeal from the back seat.

"CRYSTAL AND I ARE GONNA BE BUDDIES FOREVER!" Gia exclaimed.

Christella looked confused.

"What is it?" She asked.

"What is it? What is it? It's a phone! You'll be able to message me all the time!" Gia was clearly overjoyed that her friend had gotten a device that meant they would be able to communicate.

"I — I don't know what to say . . . Thank you."
