You and Kayano have known each other ever since elementary school. You secretly had feelings for her but you didn't quite know how to do so. Even though saying what's on your mind or how you feel is easy for you, you just couldn't get yourself to confess to her.

You walked along the side walk, on your way to the school. You had your earbuds in your ears and was humming along slightly to the music playing. Usually you'd walk with Kayano but today she said that she was busy with something.

You made a small sigh and stared up at the sky as you walked.

Suddenly there was a small tap on your shoulder. It surprised you a bit but not too much. You quickly turned your head to see Kayano and that sweet smile of hers.

"Hey (Y/N)!" She greeted with a wave while flashing a smile.

Light blush dusted your cheeks because of this but you quickly stopped and smiled. "Hi Kayano."

She smiled and walked alongside you as she held onto her book bag.

"I thought you said you had something to do," you said as you glanced at her as you paused your music and lightly pulled your earbuds from your ears.

Kayano sweatdropped and laughed softly. "Well I was mostly just busy hurrying to finish eating my breakfast."

You laughed a bit making her pout and lightly punch your shoulder.

She then soon began to laugh a bit.

"You always wake up late huh?" You asked as a smile spread on your face.

She nodded her head and rubbed the back of her neck a bit. "Hey it's not my fault that my clock doesn't know how to wake someone up on time."

"Or do you just forget to set your alarm?" You stated as the two of your spotted the school gates.

Kayano huffed and crossed her arms as she blushed slightly out of embarrassment. "Maybe."

You laughed and patted her head gently. "You're so cute."

Kayano widened her eyes as her cheek's slightly glared up at those words.

You blinked a few times before moving your hand away and blushing in embarrassment. "Sorry."

You both then awkwardly made your way up the hill in silence.

~time skip~
It was now the end of school and you were walking home. You felt a light tug on your sleeve making you stop and turn to see Kayano blushing lightly.
"Wanna come with me to go and get some ice cream?"

You smiled widely and nodded your head as you turned to her. "Yeah sure!"

Kayano smiled and nodded as she grabbed your hand and dragged you quickly down the sidewalk making you laugh a little.

'I wonder why she asked me to go somewhere with her at a time like this? I mean I like to hang out with her and all but we don't usually do things like this'

-later on-
You soon arrived at the ice cream parlor and both you and Kayano took a seat in a booth. Kayano smiled at you, but her smile seemed a bit different than before.

Her smiled seemed more shy-like and nervous.

"Something wrong?" You asked as you tilted your head to the side and drummed your fingertips lightly against the table.

"No! Nothing's wrong!" She insisted as she laughed nervously and sweatdropped a bit.

You nod and smiled at her as thoughts and questions rushed through your mind.

Later on you had gotten the ice creams you ordered from the waitress and began to eat your ice cream.

You took a few spoonfuls of your ice cream before stopping and looking at Kayano.

She hadn't touched her ice cream at all yet, she hasn't even touched the spoon.
Her hands were in her lap, her fingers nervously fiddling with each other.

You blinked a few times and grabbed one of her hands from underneath the table. "Kayano? Why do you seem so nervous?"

Kayano flinched and blushed at the touch of your hand holding hers. "W-well . . (Y/N). . ."

She stuttered slightly as her cheeks burned a bit darker.

You waited patiently unsure of what she was trying to say.

"I-I-I . . . I . . I love you!" She managed out as she looked you straight in the eye and lightly blushed.

Blush spread across your cheeks as you released her hand and shyly looked down a bit. 'Wh-what?! Is she serious??? How did I not know?!'

"I-I love you too," you quickly spoke as you smiled at her.

She grinned and laughed happily before beginning to eat her ice cream.

You blushed and held her hand before continuing to eat your ice cream.

~time skip~
You both had finished your ice creams and it was growing a bit dark outside, the sun was barely visible and the stars were fading into view.

You walked alongside Kayano holding hands.

"I had fun, and I never knew you had those kind of feelings for me," you said as you laughed under your breath.

Kayano giggled and nodded. "Yep! And yeh I had fun too."

An idea then popped into your head as you approached the block where you and Kayano usually part ways.

Once you stepped to that corner you turned and lightly grabbed both of Kayano's shoulders before pressing your lips to hers into a soft and sweet kiss.

Her cheeks flared up at the feeling of your lips connecting. Her mind froze for a moment before she kissed back and closed her eyes.

You did the same before pulling away and blushing lightly. "See you tomorrow."

She smiled and nodded before pecking your cheek. "See ya!" She chimed as she jogged down the block, turning and waving at you.

You smiled and walked home, thinking about the things that happened that seemed unbelievable.
