Shut Up About It

Harry.

It took me a while to wake up this morning and recollect my thoughts. I was happy to roll over and be greeted by my beautiful Sofia with a sleepy smile.

"Morning," she croaked. I chuckled lightly at her sleepy state.

"Did you want me to cook up some breakfast?" I offered, "I can find my way around the kitchen, I'm sure." I quickly added as her expression looked uncertain.

She smiled, "That would be incredible, Harry."

I gave her a peck before she rolled back over into a light sleep.

I slipped on a pair of maroon joggers and a black T-shirt before exiting the quiet room. As I walked down the hall, images from last nights events flashed in my mind. I looked at Andy's bedroom door, it was still left slightly cracked open. I peered into the room briefly as I walked past. There she laid on her stomach, completely bare, her cheek resting on the back of her hand and her lashes fluttering against her cheeks as she was coming out of deep sleep. I turned away as she rolled over, completely exposing her bare front. I couldn't look any longer. I shut the door quietly it hopes Jake wouldn't think twice about entering her room again.

Jake. How would I speak to him about this? I couldn't just ignore what he'd done. Would he question why I know of what took place? I had to think about my logical reasonings.

I trotted down the spiral staircase and strode into the big kitchen. I glanced at the calendar clock. 9am, Saturday. What a perfect time for waffles. I explored every cupboard and every drawer, finding the ingredients for waffle mix, a large glass bowl, a whisk and a waffle iron. As I was stirring the mix together, I became anxious about the teenagers upstairs. I didn't want them to continue their affair. I switched on the fan above the stove, which made a faint rattling noise loud enough to hear from outside their bedroom doors. Now they would know someone's up.

Twenty minutes and 6 waffles later, Sofia appeared in the kitchen, dressed in a casual white shirt, faded blue jeans and a long grey cardigan. She already had her brown belt and boots on.

"Smells beautiful in here," she chimed, giving me a quick kiss on the cheek.

She switched on the kettle and made us both tea as I took berries, whipped cream and maple syrup out for all our waffles. I glanced behind Sofia to see Jake walking in the kitchen to join us. I was about to pour the last of the waffle mix into the iron as Sofia touched my hand lightly to stop me.

"Don't worry about Andy's just yet," she shook her head, "she'll be out in a little while."

"Oh?" I tilted my head at her.

"She does her exercises each morning, and uses her massage chair," she smiled to herself, "She always spends so long on it. I hear the vibration for almost half an hour every morning, she loves that thing."

I saw Jake's cheeks redden as he looked down smiling, obviously thinking too far into what Andy is actually doing in the mornings.

"Lovely. Well, I'll leave this here for her," I place the glass bowl on the counter next to the iron, switched it off as I made my way to the breakfast bar, where the three of us sat with our waffles and toppings.

"So," Sofia spoke as she placed berries on her plate, "I'm going to need help with some some shopping today. Jake, if you don't mind joining me, I'd love your assistance."

I quickly cut in, "Oh I can help you if you need."

"No no, I'd prefer not to leave the kids home alone," she smiled at me, then turned to Jake,"Besides, I'd love to get to know Jakey here a little bit more."
