Philinia is a country ruled by different noble people. My family lives in a city named Ravanna in the region of Havaianas. Our city is ruled by the highest noble family, the Lord and Lady Rife.

I was born in one of the noble families, the family of Lux. Nick and Melch Lux were my parents, I was their only child.

Melch sent me to a school for girls only. My classmates were from the nobles too but as soon as we're all dismissed, I immediately go to our house and changed my clothes to simple ones and play with the peasants' kids.

My mom always finds out and scolds me but I still continued my routine. Stubborn? Yup, that's me! When I reached the age of eleven, she taught me etiquettes and brings me to parties.

"You have a very lovely daughter Misis Lux." I heard a serious cold voice but a creepy yet handsome man talking to my mother. When I looked at him, I hid under my mom's dress.

"Oh, Lord Rife. Let me introduce to you my daughter, Csarie." Mom pulled me out of her dress and placed me infront of him.

"Hmm. Csarie Lux, the daughter of Nick and Melch Lux. Meet my son, Claude." He pulled the kid beside him that seems busy watching the other kids playing around the party and showed him to us.

His attention shifted to us and his eyes and mine met. He has his father's blonde hair and blue eyes, a matching characteristics of a handsome prince. His cheeks were a little bit flustered, his nose is pointed and his thin lips is pale pink. He's taller that made him looked down at me.

"Csarie? Where's your manners?" I heard mom whispering at me.

"Hi Cla- Claude. I- I'm Csarie. Ni- nice meeting you." I smiled and offered my hand infront of him for shake hands.

He just stared at my hand and his father tapped his shoulder to respond.

Claude grabbed my hand and kissed the back of my palm. "Nice meeting you too, Csarie." And he puts back my hand.

We're all shocked by his response but his father disturbed our reactions and ordered Claude and I to go to his room.

Claude grabbed my hand and we left mom and his father. I looked back at them before we reached the exit. They were talking to each other over a serious matter.

"Claude, wait, you're too fast. Can we walk slower? You looked like you're in a hurry." I stopped walking and we're both in the wide corridor.

"My father told us to go to my room, if I walked quickly, follow me. Don't even dare to ask why." His harsh words blended with his angry look and I quickly obeyed him.

He closed the door as soon as we entered his room.

"Wow! Your room is too big. It's twice as big as my room. Why do you need this kind of wideness? It even makes you feel empty." I looked around in amazement.

When I looked at Claude, he's just watching me with no emotions.

"Cla- Claude, is something wrong?" I came close to him to see what's making him look that way.

His eyes followed me and it made me feel warmer and warmer. I feel like he's going to kill me.

"I have to go, Claude. I have to see mom. I want to go home." I turned around and run to the door but he pulled my wrist and pushed me on the floor.

My body shakes in fear, my heart raced and my tears began to roll.

"You can never get away from me. Never!" He screamed on my face and let me go.

"Ah!" I never looked back as I run to look for mom. I saw her still talking to Lord Rife and he turns to look at me. When I saw his eyes, I felt worse and my tongue backed out.

"Csarie, where's Claude? I thought you're with him." Mom's lively voice calmed me down.

"I'm sorry, I left him. I just need to go to the bathroom." I pretend to hold my abdomen and act like I really want to pee.

"I'm sorry, Lord Rife, we have to leave you, I have to accompany her to the bathroom." He just nodded and we left him surprised with my appearance.

I entered the bathroom and drained my urine. I stood infront of the mirror and saw my reflection revealing my long disheveled blonde hair.

'Oh no, is that the reason why Lord Rife looked at me like I made a mess?' I immediately combed it and left the comfort room until I was finally contented.

We left the party after dad came to fetch us.

"Nick, I think that the Lord Rife likes our daughter." Mom said with a proud face.

"Really? Did you heard that Csarie? We're lucky he puts his eyes on you. Have you met Claude?" He looks at me with a cheerful smile.

"Yes." I just said with a sad face. They didn't put any attention to me. As a kid, I am really frightened with his actions.

I don't feel good with what they are talking about. My heart thumps fast and I looked behind the car.

Claude is standing steadily, watching us while we leave. His father joined him standing sturdily while his arms are behind him.

...

"Csarie, stop whatever you are doing right now. If you have any plans to do, cancel it." Mom ordered me to clean and fix myself for an important meeting again, but this time, it will take place in our house.

"You have to look splendid, my grown up baby. The Rifes are coming to have dinner with us." Mom looks excited while she combs my waist length hair.

She pressed my dress to look neat and clean.

"Turn around darling." She instructed me to chin up all the time. Why?! That's crazy!

"Very good!" She takes my hand and we walked down the stairs.

The dining room is lighted with big decorative candles and on the long table is five slender candles on the candle stand.

Our visitors came, Claude and his parents. The mothers get along very well like the young ladies in our school but well behaved.

The dinner is served and we all sit on our respective chairs with their noises.

Claude sits silently infront of me. I smiled on him but he just gave me a cold glare.

I was dismayed and began to eat without laying eyes on him.
