New Girl, and Mystery Boy

If loving you is wrong....

"Luna?" he asked,  Mystery boy and I are currently driving around in his car trying to dry off a little and get warm. I just give a little 'hm?' in response to his question. "Do you want to tell me what happened tonight?"  So, I told him about the beautiful dress that Des gave me, the rose, the restaurant, the hours of talking and laughing, and then the proposal that I turned down. He seemed quite shocked when I told him that I said no to the proposal. "I thought he made you happy, when he asked me if it was an okay time to ask I told him to go for it because I saw how happy he made you." And with those words, my heart shattered a little bit more. He gave his blessing to Des for him to propose, I should have known though, he's happily in a relationship. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy for them, I just guess that a part of me hoped that he wanted me.. "I wanted to say yes, I just couldn't. Hey, do you mind if I stay at your house tonight? I just want to sleep, but I really don't want to face Desmond right now."  "Of course Lu, you're always welcome to stay", and with that, we left for his house.

*time skip to when they get to his place*

"So you can sleep in the guest room if you'd like", Mystery boy said as he rubbed the back of his neck and turned to look at me. "I can sleep on the couch, I don't want to be a bother" I reply. His face falls slightly as we both sit on the couch, him putting his arm around my shoulders, pulling me into his side. "You're never a bother Lu." Those five words made my heart melt, and as I leaned into his chest more, I knew I was truly falling for this boy; a boy that I know I can't have. 

We stayed like that, me resting against his chest and him with his arms around me for a while. We ended up just talking about him and Ava...she really made him happy but i still had hope that he would somehow fall for me. I really loved this boy. Finally, he asked the question I had hoped we could've avoided, "So why did you tell Desmond no? I thought you loved him?" He looked at me with eyes that seemed to hold a little bit of sadness? Was he really that upset that I told Des no? "Well um.." I started, "I love Des, I do, but I don't think it's the kind of love that I want and need in a relationship, especially in a marriage. As much as I care about him, he's more of a friend type of love than he is anything else to me. I just haven't known how to tell him and do anything about it. Plus, I think I'm falling for someone else..." I answered, slightly hiding my face behind my hair. Mystery boy didn't say much after that, he just kinda pulled me closer to him and then we both fell asleep.
