Chapter Seven

" Mommy!" Landon screamed as he ran up to me and tackled me with a hug. I kissed his cheek as he hugged me tightly. Genesis turned around and gasped. She ran towards me as she kissed me on my forehead. I missed my babies so much and their random questions.

" Auntie, your back!" She said with a smile. I noticed one of teeth was missing and sighed. I missed another tooth. I promised her I was going to catch the next one but this one came to me all of a sudden.

" Yes, I am baby. Did you have fun?" I said and she nodded happily. Landon held up his fingers.

" I learned how to count to a hundred" Landon said and I clapped.

" Good job baby " I said and he ran off to get his shoes.

" Well, it was good catching up baby boy" Tristan said as he gave Shad a brotherly hug. I rolled my eyes and knew this was a mistake letting him get out the car. I hate he knows my brother and was actually was apart of childhood.

" You too man" He said as he juggled his keys in his pocket. " Y'all ready?"

I nodded as I grabbed their bags and Landon ran back to me with his shoes on. We said our goodbyes and kisses.

Five Months Later

I was typing on my computer trying to process my thoughts. Time has passed and it's almost time for them to get out of school. Life has been okay. Miracle has gotten bigger and Genesis is accepting her brother's death in a healthy way. Landon is doing better in school and Shad is aggravating.

" Are you done? I'm ready to go home" He said and I looked up at him with a death glare.

" Didn't ask you to come " I said and he smacked his teeth nonchalantly.

" You already know why. " Shad said and I sighed dramatically.

" Shad, I don't need your help. You just acting like a pest right now " I said and he ignored me. I finished the paper and picked up my bag. I shut everything down and dimmed the lights. Shad got up as he opened the door for me and I walked out. Shad followed behind me as we made our way out the building and down the steps.

" Shad go home. Stop following me. I don't care about the little secret deal you and my brother made, go home" I said sternly and Shad ignored me as he looked at his wrist watch. He was so hardhead and stubborn. He never listened to me unless I needed anything.

I got in my car and that pest got in his. I pulled out the parking lot of my firm and out into the road. I looked out the window as I drove past the big buildings with the bright lights and turned up my radio. It was Aaliyah and it was One In a Million. I loved this song and started thinking of when I used to sing it to Kilo. Getting on his nerves was one of my talented skills.

" Anything you want, anything you need, anything you so desire. I'll give you anything you want from me" I sung softly hitting the highway and didn't notice tears was falling down my cheek. Swiftly wiping them off my cheeks, I checked the time. It was still early but I could still catch Law & Order.

I pulled into the driveway and got out the car. Shad pulled in after me as I opened the door to my house. The babysitter was a very old woman who wouldn't hurt a damn fly and I kept nanny cameras all around the house to see how she would do. She's actually a really good babysitter considering she's a damn grandma.

" Hello chile, how was work?" Mrs.Hugh asked and smiled.

" It was good Mrs.Hugh, were they angels?" I asked her and she chuckled.

" Lord knows Genesis was but Landon is just bad as it goes. Miracle is getting busy. She's trying to crawl but she's so little. He'll listen but he's a handful. " She told me and I laughed. I handed her the money and Mrs.Hugh gave me a hug.

" Thank you baby, I'll see you whenever you need me " Mrs.Hugh said as she walked to the door and Shad opened it. I sighed walking up the stairs and into my room. I looked at Genesis and Landon in their rooms and they was knocked out. Thank you Mrs.Hugh. I had a long day and don't want to be breaking up a fight. Miracle was knocked out in her bassinet that sat by my bed.

I turned on the hot water and laid out my white gown that stopped at my knees. I painted my face in my face mask while wrapping my towel around me. I jumped into the shower, letting the towel fall and let the hot water run down over me. I grabbed my body wash and put it on my rag. I started to bathe and hit all my areas good.

After I was done, I got out the shower and dried off. My face mask dried up and my hair got slightly wet. I put my white gown on and walked out the bathroom.

Shad Point Of View

I left the house after she got home safe. I put my on my hat and started to wipe down my restaurant tables. My restaurant was called Southern Cooking. Placing it in New York was the best thing because everyone loves southern cooking. I'm from Georgia and that food down there is so fucking good. Nothing beats southern cooking.

" Aye boss man, see you tomorrow " My employee John said as he left and I nodded my head while sitting down on the chair.

I checked my phone and opened the lock screen. I smiled at the picture of Jasmine & I with the kids. Landon was wearing a Santa Claus hat and Genesis was staring at the present in Jasmine hand. Miracle was on her bouncer while she ate her hand. Jasmine was opening the present while she cracked a joke and I laughed. The picture was took on her iPad and I found it a little adorable. That was a month ago.

Even though Jasmine doesn't like me protecting her a lot of times, I have to. She keep getting threats from random people and dead animals are sent to her door at times. Moving isn't going to solve the problem because the problem follows her around.

After I cleaned up and checked the money made, I walked out and shut down the restaurant.

" Hey sugar, I'm selling roses for ten dollars, you want to buy some? Only got a few batches left. It goes to the charity for the homeless people and I'm trying to help out " This random woman with gray hair asked. Old lady with bright pearly teeth. She was wearing white and a gold ring was on her finger.

" Yeah, let me get one. The one with bright red roses and dark roses" I said and she nodded as I handed her ten dollars.
