The seven letters of poverty

The meaning does apply

The feeling of inferiority

When money does run dry

We speak of young child lee

See here his struggles and tragedies

Pennies were valued dearly

Bankruptcy was seen yearly

Often it was seen that Lee was quite unclean

For his world was confined

His skin color lacked a shine

Goals became distant dreams

For equality of classes were unseen

His clothes were slightly tattered

Around him he heard secret chatter

He knew talks did not flatter

He tried to pay no matter

Lying awake at night

Dreaming of relieving his plight

No guardian in sight

From the first day light

Food have been quite sparse

Portions becoming quite scarce

Appetite became a curse

Things would turn worse

Privilege was not known

Bed now felt like stone

Society was prone

To be treated as baggage thrown

Where are you now Wright?

To ease this child's plight
