Chapter Four
“So what do you wanna do?” I asked Clarke after we had finished eating.
He just shrugged and pulled out his phone. After ten minutes in silence with the only noise coming from Clarke tapping away on his phone so I quickly grabbed it from him.
“It’s rude to ignore someone, especially when they invite you into their house.”
“Give me back my phone Alisha.”
I noticed that’s the first time he’s ever said my name.
I copied the smirk he always wore, “Ooo what’s Clarke hiding.”
I stared down at the IPhone I was currently holding.
“Alisha I am not playing, plus you’re meant to be doing what I tell you.”
Oh yeah that. I chucked his phone back to him and turned on the TV.
After sitting for another 15 minutes in an awkward silent I spoke.
“Why don’t we watch a movie or something?”
“What do you have?”
I pointed to the cabinet with all the DVDs in them. Clarke got up and started looking through them.
“I can’t find anything good.” He commented.
“You’re being a jerk again.” I commented back.
He just ignored me.
“Let’s just watch Rush Hour. Everyone loves Rush Hour.” I said.
He picked up Rush Hour 1 and placed it into the player and sat next to me on the coach.
“Lol! How can he just drop it like that. Ahh Chris Tucker is too much!” I laughed holding my stomach.
“If I was Jackie Jan I would Kong Fu’ed his arse already.” Laughed Clarke.
“I love this movie.” I smiled happily.
“I can tell.”
“Do you want something to eat its coming up to seven?”
“Yeah, just order pizza or something.”
I didn’t want to tell him that I can’t waste money on having a takeout so I suggested I cook us Marconi cheese. Half an hour later we were casually stuffing it down.
“You are a good cook.” He complimented.
“Thanks, but Mac and cheese is hardly the most complicated dish to cook.”
Once again there was silence.
"So where do you live Clarke?” I asked curiously.
"Why?” He snapped.
“Just wondering.”
Why is he so touchy about everything?
“I live in twenty minutes away from school.” He said not really answering my question properly.
“Oh, okay.”
“I need to go.” He said suddenly.
“Wait, don’t go.”
He looked at me weirdly.
“It’s just that my mums gone away and I don’t want to be here by myself.” I mumbled embarrassed.
“Well I suppose I could stay a little longer.” He agreed.
“I better wash these.” I said pointing at the dishes.
