Chapter Three
You the one that I dream about all day
You the one that I think about always
You are the one so I make sure I behave
My love is your love, your love is my love
Love love love.
I groaned and swiftly turned off my alarm that was currently blasting out Rihanna . I couldn’t understand why my body still felt tired even though I had nine hours of sleep. I draggered myself into my bathroom. Today I decided I would put some effort into my appearance. I racked my eyes over the clothes in my wardrobe and pulled out a pair of skinny jeans and a see through pinkish shirt with a white vest top to go underneath. I looked at myself in the mirror. I looked alright but my curvy body would never allow me to be one of those model girls you see on catwalks. I looked at my hair, it was a mixture of frizz and curls which I got from my Caribbean dad and my Irish mum. Once again I couldn’t really be bothered to style it properly so I just popped it into a bun.
“You alright Alisha, do you want me to make you anything?” My mum asked as she leant up against the kitchen counter with a mug in one hand and a paper in the other.
“No I’m alright. I’m just gonna make some toast.” I replied opening the fridge.
“Well I’m not coming home tonight I got a meeting in Manchester so I’m going to go out there for three days.”
I looked at my mum guilty. Ever since my dad died she has been working harder than ever to maintain our lifestyle.
“Mum I’ll be fine.” I said giving her a reassuring smile even though I hated being in a house all alone.
“Well I better be going, I don’t want to be late. I left some money on the kitchen table. Remember to call me yeah?”
“Yes mum.”
As usual the walk to school was quiet and I just bopped to the music on my iPod.
“Hey Alisha.” Jake smiled as I arrived at school.
“Hi.” I waved back as I pulled out my earphones.
Jake was attractive, trust me I was reminded everyday by the girls in my class but he just didn’t do it for me. We went on a date once and I instantly put him in the friend bracket and ever since then we had remained good friends.
“What you doing this weekend?” He asked me.
“I haven’t got anything planned yet.”
“Good.”
I raised my eyebrow.
“I’m having a party.”
I groaned, “Another one already? Your house got trashed last time.”
“So, it was back to normal within 24 hours.”
“Such as waste of money.” I laughed punching him on the shoulder.
Jake just laughed at me and grabbed my hand pulling me to class.
As I sat down I noticed Kay giving the look.
“What’s up?”
“Nothing much. Just that you were holding hands with Jake. The guy you claim to be your friends with.” She explained air quoting the word ‘friend’.
I just laughed at her; she would never understand Jake and mine relationship.
The rest of my day went smoothly and I had completely forgotten about the whole with Clarke till I had English. I breathed in a sigh of relief as I noticed he wasn’t here. Half way through the lesson he appeared. I shook my head at him; he had missed half of the lesson!
