Shizuo had made his way to Kairi's room in order to speak with her as to what exactly happened today when you and her snuck out of the castle. Concerned for your health and safety, Kairi had told Shizuo just what you were up to and the mention of Izaya Orihara's name made his blood boil.

He knew there was something wrong with you and he didn't want to push you into discussing it with him, but the fact that you went to Izaya for help hurt him. It hurt him a lot more than his bones breaking over and over again when he was younger as a result of him not being able to control his temper.

In a way, the only way he could describe how he was feeling was... betrayed. You had turned his help away, someone who he cared for deeply had turned his help away and went to a complete stranger for help instead.

The sound of Kairi screaming and calling out his name brought him back to reality. It didn't take him long to realise that he had completely trashed Kairi's room in his blind rage. Looking around at the destruction he left behind, his eyes fell on Kairi who was staring at him, tears in her eyes.

Ashamed with himself due to his behaviour, he apologised quickly before turning and making for the door, however he was stopped when Kairi threw her arms around his waist and hugged him tightly. "Are you okay?" she asked, her voice shaking.

Remaining silent, Shizuo closed his eyes for a few moments, his fists clenched before he nodded and turned himself around so he could return Kairi's hug. He knew better than to be ashamed for his behaviour around Kairi. She had seen him destroy many things before and knew that he only did it when he was upset.

Kairi held him tighter when he returned her hug. She cared for Shizuo like he was her older brother and seeing him so upset always managed to upset her also. His bursts of anger and rage used to terrify her, but now she had seen it enough where it almost didn't bother her anymore. She just wanted him to be okay.

"I didn't mean to upset you..." Kairi said.

With a shake of his head Shizuo pulled away from Kairi and made her look up at him. "You didn't upset me."

"Are you sure?" she asked, wiping at her eyes to rid them of any tears threatening to spill over her lids.

"I'm sure," he nodded, offering her a small smile. "I just... thought ~~~~~ would come to me or you for help rather than..." he began, involuntarily gritting his teeth at the thought of Izaya. "Going to him."

Nodding, Kairi turned and looked around her room, sighing at the sight of her broken bed frame and window due to Shizuo picking up and throwing her chestier draws. "You owe me a new bed..." she said, a small smile on her face as she turned to face Shizuo again.

"Sorry about that..." he replied, scratching the back of his head sheepishly. "I'll get you a new one."

With a nod of her head, Kairi stared up at Shizuo as he looked around the room, inspecting the damage he had caused. She was proud of him, for the most part. He had only destroyed a few things rather than everything in his path which showed a small improvement in regards to controlling his rage. She was sure that if you were here he would have destroyed even less things, but she was proud regardless.

"Damn." Shizuo said, walking towards her mirror. Following him, it didn't take long for Kairi to notice that in his blind rage he had thrown an ornament from the chestier draws and managed to break her stand up mirror. "No, wait." He instructed as he held out his arm. "There's glass everywhere."

Obeying his orders, she stood back and watched as Shizuo began to pick up shards of glass that were scattered over the floor. "What's that... seven years bad luck?" she joked, earning a small chuckle from Shizuo.
