As Noctis placed the ring on your finger, the room was silent as he stood straight. The two of you looked at each other, waiting for someone to speak. The silence was deafening and you felt as though you were going to break down at any moment.

You were engaged.

Just a few hours ago you were single and happy. But then again, you couldn't really complain, this was technically your fault considering you offered your own hand instead of Kairi's. But she was your little sister and there was no way you were going to let her give up her life. Letting out a small sigh, you felt your eyes fill with tears. You quickly looked down towards the ground in order to make sure no one would see.

"Well..." your mum began, her voice low, probably still trying to comprehend what in the hell had just happened. "Dinner is ready in the dining hall, so if you would follow me." She finished, but instead you shook your head and continued to hold back your tears as you turned around to look at your family.

"I'm sorry, but I won't be joining everyone for dinner tonight. I have incomplete homework that is due tomorrow," you explained, receiving an upset look from both your parents. You didn't have the heart to even try and look at Kairi. "I shall see you all in the morning." You finished. With that, you turned and curtsied to your new fiancé and his friends before quickly leaving the room, Shizuo following after you.

Walking quickly, you couldn't stop the tears that had started to fall from your eyes. You wiped at your eyes furiously in an attempt to make the tears stop. If there was one thing you absolutely hated, it was when people saw you cry. There were only two people in this entire castle that had ever seen you cry and that was Shizuo and Kairi.

Travelling up several sets of stairs and down long hallways, you eventually made it to your room. You were shaking as you placed your hand on the door handle and went to turn it, but before you could a hand covered yours. You looked towards Shizuo, tears still running down your cheeks.

"If you want me to, I can kill him..." he began, making you laugh a little. "It saves you from having to get married." He finished, his voice not giving you any signs that he was joking.

"It's a lovely offer, but you and I both know that's a stupid idea." You chuckled, wiping at your eyes again.

Sighing, Shizuo took your hands in his and looked at your face, he even took off his glasses so he could get a better look at you. "You know, all you have to do is say the word and I will kill him." He stated, making you laugh as he wiped away a few stray tears.

"I'll keep that in mind, Shizuo. Thanks..." you mumbled, giving him the best smile you could before taking your hands away from his and opening your bedroom door. You took a few steps inside and stopped when Shizuo spoke up again.

"There should be more people in this world like you, ~~~~~," he began, making you turn to face him as you prepared to close the door. "Selfless and courageous," he finished, making you smile. "I will be right outside your door if you need me."

"Thanks, Shizuo." You said, giving him a thankful nod before closing the door and shutting yourself inside.

In the privacy of your own room, you let out a small sigh as you placed your forehead against the door and let the remainder of your tears fall. You made sure to cry as silently as possible due to not wanting Shizuo to hear you.

Lifting your head, you opened your eyes and looked towards the roof, blinked back the tears and focused on your breathing. It was difficult, because all you wanted to do was cry and let out how you were truly feeling, but no one could cry forever. Lowering your head, you wiped at your eyes before a cold chill surrounded your body.
