Dishes. That's what the devil chose for me as a punishment. Couldn't there be something else that I could do like jog around the hotel seven times or mop all the floors and clean up my classmate's rooms.
Those would make better punishments then doing the dishes. But in the end Mrs. Gray persuaded the hotel manager to let me help the poor kitchen staff in doing the dishes. So here I am standing by the hell machine trying to figure out how it works.
By the time I finally figured out how to use the damn thing I was completely soaked. I swear dishes are my worst nightmare. In my childhood I'd run away from home if mom even mentioned the words "Jess" and "dishes" in one sentence.
After a total amount of two hours and thirty eight minutes I was done with the dishes and my life. But before I could even make a step out the door the main cook came up to me.
"Jess, right?" she questioned uncertainly.
"Yes." I said nodding.
"Well Jess, would you be a willing to help me stack the crates into the fridge and cupboards. I would really appreciate your help."
As much as I wanted to refuse helping the cook, her pouty lips and big puppy eyes stopped me from saying no. I was still a human and her elderly age and weak looking arms didn't help my situation. So in the end I ended up stacking the crates with food to where they belong.
While I was helping I noticed that the cook started cooking. "Excuse me, but isn't a little bit too late to start cooking a meal especially since the dining room is closed." I asked in annoyance. I mean here I was helping the poor old lady and she was doing something entirely different from what she asked me to help her with.
"Oh, I'm sorry dear. I know I shouldn't ditch you to do all the work, but I need to make a meal right this second because our V.I.P guest will be coming in to eat his dinner in about ten minutes."
"Why is someone coming in to eat so late, It's practically night right now?" I was confused I mean even I a food lover wouldn't eat dinner at twelve o'clock in the night. A midnight snack yes, but not a whole meal.
"That I don't know," said the cook," But it's been happening for a while now. " With those words she stopped talking and hurriedly started cooking again.
After about five minutes off complete silence I stood up to leave after finishing off with what I was doing. I started walking out off the kitchen when I noticed a figure sitting in the far right side corner away from the door playing with his phone. That must be the V.I.P guest.
From afar I couldn't tell much, but one thing that caught my attention was that he was wearing both a mask and a hat to cover up his face completely. As if sensing that someone was staring at him he turned his head in my direction. What I saw next had me holding my breath.
His eyes were so mesmerizing. They were a deep brown, nothing special, but the way they sparkled under the light captivated me. It seemed as if he could look right into my soul and see my deepest secrets that no one knew about.
I stood there like an idiot longer than necessary. It was as if I was under a spell, that the next second was broken. The man, whoever he was, looked away breaking me from my trance. Without a glance back, at the man who held me in place with his eyes, I turned around and walked off before I could be caught staring at him again.
The moment I walked out of the dining room I ran towards my room as if a psychopath was running after me.
What was wrong with me? I've never reacted this way because of a guy, even if I had a major crush on him.I could use Suho, Liv's best friend as an example. I've had a crush on him since I transferred schools in sophomore year, but he or his eyes didn't leave me as breathless as the ones I just saw.
"Jess, calm down. It must be just the Korean air. You're overreacting, you must be really tired. Yes! That's it, you're tired." I was rambling incoherent words such as these the whole way until I reached my room.
You would think that I, an extremely tired person as it seems, would go to sleep the second I reached my room, but that wasn't the case. I twisted and turned and jumped and counted sheep, but nothing helped. I was still as awake and active as I was before.
Today has to be the worst day of my life. I mean I've been having bad luck the whole day and probably am little by little turning crazy.
After sitting on my phone and watching some episodes of my favorite tv show (Person of Interest), I actually started feeling tired and decided to try to go back to sleep. Turning of the lights to my room I lay down and finally began to drift off to dream land.
I was barely conscious when I heard a door open and close. Somewhere in my brain there were warning bells ringing but I was way too tired to acknowledge them.
The next second I felt the bed dip and somewhere in the middle of my dream I felt strong arms go around my waist pulling me closer to something rock hard. Circling my hands around the body and snuggling closer to the mysterious man in my dream, I fell into a deep slumber.
This is going to be the best dream of my life, I thought to myself, while my lips morphed into a big smile.
