August stood over Miko as she started to stir in her sleep.
Watching her, he noticed how pale her face was. He knew that he shouldn't of never taken her out to that club.
Miko's eyes finally opened and the first thing she noticed was how dry her mouth was.
"Miko .." August said in relief as she lifted up.
"What happened?" Miko asked.
"You fell out .." August said.
"Oh .." Miko said already knowing the answer as to why.
August was the last person she wanted to know about her problem.
"I'll go get a docta." August said walking out.
Miko sighed.
She wanted to cry because it was all finally catching up to her.
Her mother didn't want to accept it.
"Ms. Abeni. I'm glad that you're up. How are you feeling?" Dr. Austin said with a smile on her face.
Miko sighed. "I'm okay."
"That's great." Dr. Austin said before clearing her throat. "Well ..your tumor has gotten bigger over the last three months I've seen you."
August scrunched his face up in confusion. "Whatcha mean tumor?"
Miko bit her lip.
"Are you comfortable with me telling him?" She asked.
Miko slowly nodded.
"Miko has brain cancer." She said looking at the clipboard.
"...what?" August said not believing her. "No she don't."
"August please don't .." Miko said as her head started to pound.
"Um- what happened to the medicine I prescribed you?" The doctor asked.
"Uh.. my mom never got them." Miko admitted.
Amari couldn't believe that her daughter had cancer.
