Prologue Part 2:
At the precise moment that the first boil of many appeared on a beautiful young woman by the name of Mary Brinks, a meeting was called thousands of miles above her. Despite the distance, the individuals called to this meeting knew exactly what was happening to Mary Brinks and who would be affected by it. They knew what her fate would be. They knew how and when she would die. They knew, because, in a way, it was their fault.
"If this plagueis not contained, nearly every human in Europe will suffer. They will die." A man with a long red beard clad in leather armor slammed his fist down on the table. "I will *not* let my children die."
Another man with long black locks rolled his eyes. "They are merely humans. They breed like rabbits. Let them die."
"How can you speak such things?" The bearded man gasped. "They are your children as well. They worshipped you, loved you, sacrificed their *lives* for you. Why do you shun them now, in their hour of need?"
"*Worshipped*, Odin. They worship me no longer. They shunned me long ago. They worship a new God now. A God that allows them to kill with no regard for life. Their God encourages slaughter and hatred and biggotry. Let their *poisonous* God help them now." The black haired god spat.
A woman in white, her hair red as fre and perfumed with the smell of lust spoke quietley, "Loki is correct, Odin. They have not worshipped us in thousands of years. You were far before my time and even I am recongnized no longer. What does that say, hm? Let their god fix this. Let them pray to Mary and Jesus. Let them learn their lesson."
"I will not!" Odin roared, "I will not let them die! I have put too much blood and sweat into their development. I cannot give up now!"
She shook her head slowly and waved away a platter of various wines that was offered to her. The slave kneeled before Loki, and then he took an entire pitcher.
"I'm sorry to say this, but I believe there is a traitor in our midst."
Every god and goddess present at the meeting looked up from their hands and gaped at the young man speaking.
"Excuse me?" The messenger god asked, his eyes wide.
The young man ran his fingers through his closely cropped brown hair and said, "Who is in charge of sickness and plague? Who is burdened with the task of keeping it from spinning out of our control? Who has failed to do so?"
"This disease is from fleas and rats, Ares. The fault would belong to Cernunos."
Cernunos crossed his arms. "No." He growled shortly. "If I remember correctly, the huntress Diana split my duties in half nearly a thousand years ago. I am in charge of nature, and she keeps the animals healthy. 'Tis her you want."
They looked to Diana. She raised an eyebrow. "I've no time for petty blame games."
Ares shook his head. "Why are no Titans in our presence?" He wondered aloud. "They, I believe, are to blame."
Athena stood slowly, clearing her throat. "On what grounds do you accuse them?"
"I have the fools who have done this terrible deed." Ares snapped his fingers and two dark-skinned individuals were dragged into the meeting hall by their ankles and then roughly dropped to the floor. "Behold, our conspirators."
They were both teenage children with dark and eyes in appearance, but every person present knew just how old they were. Their skin was covered in ancient tattoos, tattoos so old that not even Odin knew what they signified. These seemingly teenage Titans were older than every other god and goddess in the room. The boy rolled himself into a ball and rocked himself back and forth, but the girl jumped onto the back of Ares with a wild roar. She brandished a giant sword that appeared to come out of thin air and held it against his throat. "You slimy piece of shit! You will die for your crimes against me!"
"Guards!" Ares cried, failing to pull her off his neck.
Loki chuckled and gulped his wine. "It seems that the Greek god is afraid of a wee Titan."
It took six guards to remove her from his back, and all had scratches and cuts on their bodies by the time she was on the floor.
"Who are these children, Ares?" Cernunos asked, his face curious.
"Do not be fooled. They are not children. They are far older than we are, my friends."
"Most children are older than you are," Diana muttered, chuckling to herself.
Ares sent her a dirty look, muttering something obscure and pointless about Diana before continuing. "These are the only two Titans left. They are the first of the Titans. They are so old that we do not even know their names."
In the corner, Zeus laughed the hearty laugh of man who has seen it all. "Nonsense, my son! I have killed them all! You know that, I have told you the story at least a thousand times!"
"Not these two. They were in hiding he womb of Mount Olympus while you slayed your father. They have been hiding all this time, living like kings...or rather, like gods."
The girls tried again to lunge at Areas. "NO! We have been hiding from you. It is because of you that my family is dead!"
Ares rolled his eyes. "She is trying to save her own skin. As I was saying- she and her brother here have unleashed this plague upon humanity. They can control who lives and dies. They make the decision on how others die. Their age allows them that power. Your children, my children...our children are going to die because of them."
"Liar! It is not us who have done this terrible thing! Brother! Tell him!"
Her brother looked up slowly, tears in his eyes.
Odin smiled kindly at the boy and asked, "Now, m'boy, did you do this?"
The boy looked scared out of his mind, the tears finally spilling over and falling down his face. "Yes. Yes, we did."
The girl's jaw dropped. "WHAT? No, we did not! Do not say such things! Brother!"
"We did! We did and I cannot bear it, Anubis found us and he...he..." He broke off into a sob.
"We? We?! You, brother, may have done these things, but I did not!"
"The boy ignored her and got on his knees. "Please, have mercy on us!"
"What? Br-"
Ares sent the girl to her knees with a quick punch to the face. "Shut up!"
She spat out blood and growled at him.
"Odin, what am I to do with these killers?" Ares asked.
Odin was silent for a moment as he rubbed his eyes and played with his hands. "They..."
"Shall we kill them?" Ares suggested
"No...no..." Odin shook his head no. "Boy, do you enjoy living forever? Do you enjoy unlimited power?"
"I...no...I do not, sir."
He looked to the girl. "And you? Do you enjoy living here in the god world? Do you enjoy immortality"
"I do, yes, but I do not want the power. 'Tis a burden I do not wish to possess. It weighs me down. My body was made for it, but it was not made for my body."
"Hmm." Odin sighed. "You are both banished to the human world. You will not be stripped of your powers, but you will be given your humanity. You will feel pain, sadness, fear. For all eternity, you will suffer as my children suffer. You will watch your friends die as you stay the same. You will never find happiness. You will wander forever, remembering the gods you once were but will never be again."
At the precise moment that the boy's tears subsided, the girl let out a bloodcurdling scream. ";No! You can't! I will be beaten, tortured! You have no idea what you're doing!"
Odin sighed, "I know that I am serving justice where it is called for. That is all."
"You can't! You cannot do this!"
Despite her screams, both her and her brother were dragged away, never to be seen again.
"Odin, why did you not demand they undo what they have done?"
Odin did not respond. Instead, he stood and walked from the meeting hall.
