addison stood up, cleaned up, and sat back down. "it's lovely, right?"

"yeah." grayson sighed.

"grayson, do you remember that time you and i snuck out to the abandoned building and we snuck out to watch the sunrise on the roof?"

"i do." grayson smiled.

addy rose to her feet, walking over to the balcony edge, leaning on the railing. "we were so happy. just being together. watching something beautiful."

"and i looked at you. i spoke to you softly. i had my arms wrapped around you, like this." i wrap my arms around her waist from behind. "i looked up. and said-addison, the sunset is beautiful, but you're the most stunning thing i've ever seen. your the brightest star. the warmest night. the happiest laugh. and sweetest taste. with you, i am me. i am happy and free. i am who i want to be-and with who i want to spend the rest of my life with. i love you, addison. i love you more than a friend. i am in love with you. all of you." i say, my lips brushing her ear.

addison looks at me over her shoulder. i stare at her lips. "did you mean it?"

"all of it."

"why did you leave me, grayson?"

"when i left you, i left a piece of me too."

"but you still left." she sighs, pushing me away.

i grab her wrists. "addy, i'm so sor-"

"leave, grayson." she pulls away. "this was a mistake."

"no. addison please. hear me out."

"grayson, you don't get it, do you? i loved you, and you broke my heart. you left me for that brunette, and you didn't think twice. now you want me back? look at how willing i am to doing this too. i'm so stupid. please leave, grayson, please just go."

i left quicker than a light filling the room.
