CHAPTER 24

The crime scene was surrounded by police cars,and  the forensics expert were going through every burnt material in the building hoping to salvage any evidence available.Cassy and her team were waiting downstairs talking to the officers and the police chief solomon explaining to them every detail they witnessed.

By the time the questioning ended it was evening."Okay guys its been a long day for you all ,take the rest of the day off" solomon told them.

Sally walked upto cassy "hey we should go to the station to report about yesterday's events" she said.

"Not today sal ,its been a long day and i dont want to sit in a station now please" cassy whined.

Sally nodded her head "okay we will do it tomorrow then,hey by the way we are all going to a bar now,come join us"

"No sal ,i will pass,i just want to head to my room and have a nap."cassy told her.Cassy was frustrated,she was frustrated with everything,she is been tormented in her head,she loved gabriel,her mate,but still her job stood in between them.She just wanted to go home and clear her head.

"How are you going" sally interrupted her thoughts

"I will ask one of the officers to drop me sal,dont worry about me ,go and have some fun"cassy told her shooing her to go on.

After an hour cassy was dropped at the entrance of her appartment."thank you officer" she said waving at the guy who droppped her and went inside.Her nose immediately caught the sweet intoxicating scent of gabriel.He was here,a smile plastered on her face.She made a mad dash through the stairs not waiting for the lift.

When she came to the entrance of the flat ,she relaxed herself ,trying to mask her emotions and excitement and opened the door of her flat.Gabriel was standing a few feet from her.He wore a casual white tshirt and a blue jean.This was the first time she had seen him in casual clothes,her wolf was howling in excitement.

Cassy looked at gabriels eyes,his eyes showed anger,joy,frustration,various emotion ran through him,and within seconds he walked upto her and grabbed her in his arms,closing the door.

Cassy's eyes widened with shock,gabriel was hugging her tight and inhaling her sweet scent,she wrapped her arms around his waist,smelling his intoxicating scent.All her frustration and worries vanished in thin air,nothing mattered now,she was in the arms of the one she loved.

Gabriel broke the hug and looked at her,and crashed his lips to hers,and cassy,returned his kiss with a small moan.Gabriels kiss was,hard,passionate,it showed anger ,fear,and after a few minutes they broke the kiss panting for air.

"What was that for"cassy asked him with a sly smile.

"I heard about the explosions pervy " he said,his eyes showed fear "and yesterday's events and ,and i was worried about you"

Cassy's smile widened,today she heard him say he loved her and got her first kiss from her mate and she finds out that he cares about her,may be the day wasnt so bad at all she thought.

"Oh if you were going to be so worried about me then you shouldnt have planted the bomb in the first place gabe"cassy told him with a smile.

Gabriel eyes looked hurt "pervy you think i planted the bomb" he looked at her hurt and with annoyance."Did you think i would endanger you like that,i may be a cold hearted gangster ,but i wont let my loved ones to be in danger because of me " he said raising his voice and he walked away from her,running his hands over his hair.

Cassy's wolf whined at the loss of physical contact from her mate,so did she,she wanted to be in his arms,but gabriels words registered in her mind."Then you didnt do it " she looked at him curiously.

Gabriel turned his head looking at her "No pervy,i didnt ,how could you even think i would put you near harms way.I didnt even know you were there" he said.

Cassy watched gabriel ,his eyes told the truth,there was sincerity in his eyes and voice.Before she spoke gabriels phone rang.

He picked up his phone "what" he growled.

Cassy could hear the person from other side of the phone,it was a male's voice.[ Gabe ANYA wants to have a word with you ,she says its important] he said before hanging up the phone.Who the hell was anya her wolf growled.Cassy's thoughts went to the woman who was whispering in gabe's ears.Jealousy sprang in her heart,but now wasnt the time to show it or ask him about her.

Gabriel let out a sigh and walked upto cassy before she could say anything he crashed his lips against hers,and she returned the kiss fiercely.

After a few minutes he broke the kiss and gave a cocky smile,"i have to go now pervy see you on sunday" he said and walked towards the door.

Cassy shouted "wait."gabe turned his head and looked at her "i have questions" she told him.

"All you have to tell me is the 3 magical words pervy and marry me to get your answers" he said with a cocky grin.

Cassy smiled at him,her wolf was screaming at her just give in to him,you want him dont you,yeah she told her but no i wont give in that easily,i wont let him win ,i may not get all the answers but i will try,i will show him i can get answers by myself,that i am not that helpless.Yes i want him,i want him more than life itself,but i am not sure he trusts me,thats why he wants to claim me before he tells me everything,thats what i feel.

I will find the answers myself and tell him that his secrets are safe with me, i will earn his trust.Cassy smiled at gabriel "nah not happening,i will find the answers by myself " she told him with a mischievious smile.

Gabe returned the smile "I wish you luck" he told her and walked upto her and gave her another peck on her lips "i will see you on sunday" he whispered in her ear.Cassy nodded her head and crashed her lips against his ,running her hands through his hair.

They broke the kiss after a few minutes  and gabe gave a peck before leaving."See you on sunday ,pervy "he said walking out closing the door.

Cassy touched her lips still feeling dazed from the electrical tinges on her lips ,she went to the table and took a paper and pen and sat on the sofa.She started to scribble notes.She knew now that gabriel wasnt involved in the bombing now,she saw the sincerity in his eyes and she believed him,something told her that he would never lie to her,and she trusted that instinct.

If he wasnt involved then who did it and why.If  gabriel knew about the surveillance he would have shifted the place or cancelled the meeting,only cassy and her team mates knew about the surveillance.And there was no way gabriel would know jin would be there at the meeting and he wouldnt be dumb enough to put a hit on him on surveillance.

Thinking of jin ,but how did gabriel come to know about jin,Darren she scribbled on the piece of paper.Gabriel+darren=brothers. she rounded that,could it be possible,it cant be a coincidence,the twins being with darren and at the same time showing up at the meeting.Now it was her only lead,and a plan was already formulated in her mind.She took the few hair strands she had been holding in her hand,The hair of gabriel.Cassy smiled,lets get some answers,she thought to herself.
