Part One - The Journey
Sobs can be heard in the little red house early morning. Matilda knew this is the best for Sam. It will not be safe for her to stay in the village. Once someone knew of their little secret then it will spread to the whole town and it will only cause harm on Sam. The people would not understand that there are also good werewolves and the only thing left is for Sam to go to Long Island. It is a mystical island where different creatures live harmoniously, without the threat of killing. Matilda hugs once more her only daughter before she finally waves goodbye. The Old Master will particularly make sure that the journey is safe and smooth. Chari is also excited that she will also come along and would finally see the Long Island. Though it will be a grief also that they will leave Sam there soon.
They boarded a small ship and Chari could see the sea today is calm and knew that this journey will be smooth and safe. She tried to cheer up Sam who wears a long face since they left the little red house. It is hard to leave the village where all along it is the only place she knew. The Old Master is a family friend and how she possibly missed that there is something odd with their family. It is only their family and few others who knew that the Old Master is a sorcerer where the village knew him all along as the Wise Man, respected and been always at the affairs of the village. He makes sure there is peace and no harm would befall especially with the beasts. Although recently there are reports that the attack of these beasts are more frequent and they seem to have gain courage. She can't imagine she is one of them now. Chari, her best friend, doesn't seem to mind if she is a werewolf. Perhaps because she knew all along that she too is extra ordinary, that is a sorceress. Her deep thought is interrupted by giggling of Chari whom she noticed is now playing with the dolphins that swam besides their small ship. Chari is always like that. She loves nature and seems to understand every life around her. That uplifts the heaviness of Sam's heart. Perhaps her mother will be fine and there is more to life now that she knows who she really is. She heard the Long Island before from her late father. But really didn't think the reason why he indeed grew up in such mystical place. Now she finally understood and it seems not real that she is indeed a werewolf. She needed to catch up on the understanding of these mystical beasts for she often heard Chari been fond of reading them but have ignore her all along. She didn't know she would transform into one. She joined Chari in playing with the dolphins and drops a little question every now and then. "What you really know about werewolves?" asked Sam in a little voice. "Oh they are strong and protector of the innocents!" exclaimed Chari. She further told her best friend how werewolves became warriors of Long Island and protects its people from terrifying beasts like vampires. Though there were also known rebels and hunger for power that they learned the secret of attaining greater strength by eating human flesh. Though there are rumors that once they have eaten human flesh, it would poison their minds and loose from reality. Perhaps that is why they become in turn allies of the vampires who control their minds later on. Their little chat is interrupted by Old Master loud voice, "We are near!" He dips his staff into the water and suddenly flashes of lightning appeared from the sky and roaring thunders can be heard. Appeared just in front of them is a great whirlpool. The two girls began to scream as the small ship began to circle deeper and deeper into the sea.
Part Two - The Long Island
The small ship emerges and not from afar they can see an island. As it approaches the island they can hear people singing. Chari notices there are mermen and mermaids! She can't believe their eyes on what she is witnessing right now. Both girls giggle and exchange glances as their small ship passes by the group of singing half human half fish. "Siegfred! It's nice of you to come back," a merman exclaimed as the Old Master is about to alight the small ship. "Good day Erwan," the Old Master greeted back. The two girls followed him as they go down the small ship. He waves back at the group as he and girls are about to enter the forest. Chari notices that this is a different forest. Not only that it is covered with luscious green but also with various colors like pink, red, blue, orange and purple. Not from afar, she could see a little creature with wings, as size as a pen, flying to them. "Siegfred! Finally you are here. You better talk to Bart," exclaimed the winged creature. The Old Master marched on and his quick strides have made it possible for them to reach the clearing in just a few moments. Chari noticed there is a small gathering right in the middle of the clearing with different creature that is beyond her imagination and in their midst, stand tall a centaur who is now talking about a war. The winged creature motions the Old Master right in the middle of the gathering facing the centaur. "Siegfred, you're finally here. Good! We need you in this battle", the centaur said. "Bart, I think we better talk," said the Old Master in a serious tone. The centaur leads the Old Master away from the crowd while the group of creatures is in mixed emotions. Some are excited, some are exhilarated, some are afraid. They don't know what to think of this battle that their leader has been talking about. It has been peaceful in Long Island. The disturbing news in the human world has triggered the centaur to finally form an ally and face their long time enemy, the vampires. "We are not born like the werewolves who are warriors," said a white bearded man that is half sized of Chari with a fat nose. "Bart is insane! We are peaceful people. We cannot go into war," the winged creature with blue dress exclaimed. "Let the humans fight for their existence," said another winged creature with shimmering green outfit. "But we co-exist. Our world is in peril if they become extinct," An orange lady explained. This is too much for Chari to handle. The excitement of Long Island left her the moment when she heard of the centaur talking about the war that will took place. She can't imagine that they will find bigger trouble than the big transformation of Sam.
Part Three - The Vampire
"I will smash their ugly paled-head and break their bones with my bare hands," Sam proudly says among the group of youngsters. Chari is in disbelief that her best friend has turned into a war freak and accepted the idea of waging war on vampires. She cannot tell her best friend that she too is a vampire. That would break their hearts and would not want to endure that moment yet. She flees from the group and ran deep into the forest, sobbing non-stop. A few minutes later she was greeted by a paled man who seems to be there and whom she failed to notice. "What is troubling you little girl," the paled man asked her. She is amused to find a vampire in Long Island! That is, aside from her. He seems to have a friendly smile and felt like home. "I thought your kind has been banished from the island," Chari said in between sobs. "There are only a few of us left here and the Great Centaur let us remain in one condition," replied the paled man. "We have a colony not far away from here and it is not unknown, just ignored in the history books," he continued. "Tell me what's troubling you," he further urge on. "My best friend makes me sad. Knowing that they will wage war soon," Chari trailed off. She cannot tell this stranger of her true nature. "Yes I know this war is meaningless. It will cost many lives," replied the vampire. "We all have a choice, a choice that is for betterment of the world. I, together with my legions, choose to stay here in Long Island and live peacefully. But I don't know what this war means to us. The Great Centaur may require our help in this battle," he said. "Well let me remove those tiny tears," he said with the smile and wave in the air and thousands of butterflies emerge from nowhere! Chari likes very much the sight and she is in disbelief that vampires possess such powers. "These are mere illusions," the vampire says and waves another with his hands and the butterflies disappeared. "I know nothing much has been written about us except that we hunger for power, that we drink human blood and control the minds of the innocents," he reluctantly continued. "Chari! Chari!" a voice can be heard. Chari knew it was Sam and it has been sometime she is gone and now she is looking for her. "It must be your friend. Better go now," the vampire says and about to leave too. "Thank you for your company. I'm Chari by the way. What is your name?" inquire the young girl. "Andy," the vampire replied as it hurriedly disappeared from sight. Chari remained in shock as he heard that familiar name. Has she just met her father?
