It was a very weird experience having my powers back because it was like I could feel it surge through my veins, it almost distracted me from the fact that Damien had indeed fallen farther than I thought he would have.
I thought about it as I let the Watchers take me back to their compound, one memory in particular kept invading my thoughts so finally I let it play out, it was one of the times Damien and I had been alone in the Garden of Eden and he told me that one day he'd give me the whole world and the moon and the stars as he intertwined our fingers.
"Promises, promises" was all I said before he kissed me.
There was a time when I thought he'd be my forever, now I'm not so sure.
"We're here" Dominic said bringing me out of my thoughts.
I looked out the window and was amazed to see such a huge mansion complete with a cement wall around the property.
Since it had been a while since I had my senses I had to have the humans inform me on what they've been dealing with, with Ammon and his infernal legions.
"Lucifer had entrusted his legions to Ammon to lead so he could continue to grow his army, but then Ammon and Damien together betrayed him and stole the forty infernal legions and are now trying to take earth" Eric said after we got into the car.
Now they were going to show me what they've been up against, it was a lot to take in since some were truly despicable.
One thing they never counted on though was me, now I was the wild card and going either way would mean a win for either side, but how could I go against my family whom I haven't seen in a long time.
That's when I heard it in the distance.
"Bringing me here might've been a very bad decision" I said.
"Of course it isn't, we need your help Lost One and you need to see the young ones that are on the front lines of this war" Eric said.
"That isn't what I mean, Hell Hounds are coming, get inside and ready any defenses you guys have but most importantly let me handle this" I said.
"Are you sure we can't help you?" Dominic said.
"I will be fine, get inside" I said.
This would be the first time seeing real live Hell Hounds, before I've only heard of them as servants of Darkness but I suppose after the fall it was understandable that their allegiences would be split.
I stood at the entrance to the driveway as they rounded the corner, there were three of them and they were so much larger than I thought they would be and I could smell the brimstone already, I was ready to fight them but the one in the lead and the largest one instead bowed his head and communicated with me instead.
"Lost one, our lord Damien wishes to speak with you" it said.
"Why?" I asked.
"You've been gone for so long and he has missed you greatly, he just wants to make sure you're ok" it said.
I was about to tell it to leave and that I didn't want to see him, but I couldn't let go of how much I had once loved him.
"Ok you can bring me to him" I said.
He bowed his massive shoulder giving me access to his back and once I climbed on, then it was like my innards were being pulled from the inside as he crossed thresholds into the underworld, I knew my family would be upset about this but I had to see Damien for myself.
The hound walked me up this long walkway up to a stone house and outside stood Damien himself, he had changed so much since I saw him last and there was something darker about him now.
