This one is kind of a long one! But I really liked how it turned out, and I hope you do too! I had fun writing it :)

“Why do I have to go?” She looked up at me, her crystal blue eyes had become red from crying, and tears continued to make their way down her cheeks. I gently slid my thumb underneath her eyes, wiping them away. Even though we both knew the answer, I wondered the same question; why did she have to move to a completely different continent?

“Please dont cry. You know that I don't want you to move either. But we have to be strong..” I said biting back tears of my own. I had to be strong for her.

“I just.. dont want to leave you.” She sobbed, burying her face in my chest. I stroked her hair and pulled her closer, not wanting to let go. But I knew that I eventually had to. Tonight was our last night together, and I wanted to make it the best. Even though I didn't take her out to a fancy restaurant, or on a shopping spree, I stayed with her. The whole night we watched movies, made food, and just cuddled together. I loved her, and every moment we spend together no matter what we did was amazing.

But before we knew it, the dreaded day had come. I had finally let the tears come to surface. Both of us were sobbing, holding on to each other tightly.

“I love you so much Sydney.. Dont forget about me.” I choked out

“I love you too Harry. And I could never forget about you.” She told me, loosening her grip to look up at me. We held each others gaze for another moment, before her father cleared his throat.

“Um Sydney, we have to get going. I’m sorry Harry, I hope we see you sometime in the future.” He said shaking my hand.

I nodded at her dad, shaking his hand back. I then turned back to Sydney; my beautiful girl. I hugged her for the last time, whispering in her ear that I promise, we would see each other again.

My breath caught in my throat as the memory came rushing back to me all at once as I saw the familiar blonde haired girl walking on the opposite side of the street. I knew it was her. It had to be; I had memorized her body, hair, face, everything. Sure, after 4 years she had changed; She was taller, tanner, and her hair style had changed. But it was still definitely her. I knew it in my heart.

My heart rate sped faster, and I made my way across the street towards her. She was ahead of me, listening to music through headphones. She must not have heard me approach, because when I called out her name she jumped. She turned around slowly and her eyes widened immensely.

 “Harry?!”

“Sydney!” I beamed. We ran to each other and hugged.

“Oh my god! You.. Harry you look amazing!” She laughed. Oh how I had missed her beautiful laugh.

“Then what does that make you? Because you look 10 times better than I do.” I chuckled

She blushed, looking at me. “Wow.. It’s been so long… How are you?”

“I’m doing good. I moved here to London a few years ago, left small town Cheshire.” I shrugged.

Her face lit up “Really? Well I literally moved here less than a month ago. I mean I loved the United States, but I missed the UK. And after I graduated London seemed like a good place to settle.”

“Great! Well maybe we could hang out sometime? It’s great seeing you again Sydney.” I said smiling at her

She nodded. “Sounds good. Actually, I’m not doing anything tomorrow night if you’re free?”

“Stop it Harry!” She shrieked and thrashed as I tickled her ruthlessly. She managed to squeeze out of my grip and ran towards the kitchen. I chased her around the house, both of us laughing hysterically. We both ended up crashing on the couch, still laughing.

She sighed, looking over at me “Thank you for coming over Harry. I really enjoyed your company.”

“Of course” I said smiling, sliding next to her. “So tell me, how many guys did you date when you left?” I teased

She rolled her eyes “Oh and like you didn't date any girls? I’m sure that when I left you had all the girls falling all over you! How could you resist?” She laughed.

I faked a small laugh “Yeah.. Um. Well no not really.”

She looked over at me, her smile fading a bit “Oh?”

“I.. I didn't date anyone after you left. I’ve been single for four years..” I said averting my eyes to the floor.

“Oh..”

I looked back up at her and saw her biting her lip, not being able to meet my eyes “Sydney?”

“Yeah?”

“..You have a boyfriend don't you?”

She strained to look up at me and nodded slowly. “..His name is Michael.. Harry you would really like him. He’s a good guy.”

The news hit me like a ton of bricks “But… you.. you said you would never forget about me..”

“Harry I certainly didnt forget about you. But we stopped talking, what was I supposed to do? Wait for who knows how long until I saw you again?” The pain in her voice was evident.

“I did! Sydney I waited for you! I told you that we would see each other again and I waited for that moment. I never stopped loving you, I didnt forget all those memories. I cant believe you would just-”

“I didnt forget!!” She said, her voice raising “But we were just kids.. We were young and in love. Things have changed."

“Sydney, one thing definitely hasn’t changed. I still love you. I always will.” I said, a knot forming in the back of my throat.

She looked over at me, a few tears had escaped. “Harry, I think you should go. Please.”

I looked at her in disbelief. She couldn't just.. forget. But the last thing I wanted was to see her cry. And of course, it was because of me. I pursed my lips and slowly got up off the couch. Without a word, I walked over to the door where my coat was. I turned to take one more look at my beautiful Sydney before walking out the door. It was what she wanted..

 ***********************

Three weeks later, and I still hadn't heard anything from her. I couldn't believe she would just ignore me.. and after seeing for her for such a short amount of time I only yearned for more.

But the silence in my flat was suddenly disturbed by banging on the door. At first I thought it was just one of the neighbors, wanting to complain about something ridiculous. I opened the door, about to tell off who ever was banging on my door this late, but was startled to see… Sydney.

“C-Can I come in?” Her eyes were bloodshot from crying, hair was a mess, and she wore pyjamas and sweats.

“Yeah-Yes, Yes.” I put an arm around her, pulling her inside and closing the door behind her. “Are you okay?”

She didn't respond before collapsing on to me. Sobbing hard. I was startled at first, but they I quickly hugged her tightly, supporting her. I led her over to the couch and we sat down

“Shhh.. Shh it’s okay. I’m here for you.” I said moving the stray hairs away from her face.

“Michael.. he broke up with me. Harry I’m sorry..” She cried onto my shoulder

It took a moment to register, and I just rubbed her back gently. “You dont have to apologize.. I’m sorry for getting mad at you. I never should have.”

“Well it didn't work out anyways. I thought I loved him. I should have waited..” She sniffed.

I tilted her head to look up at me. “Sydney, everything’s going to be okay. I promise. I’m here for you, and no matter what you choose or do I will back you up and-”

I was cut off mid sentence, as she pressed her lips against mine. The feeling was amazing, her soft lips on mine. A feeling I had longed for so badly after all this time. I pulled her body even closer to mine, my hand on the back of her neck and her arms wrapped around my own neck.

I pulled away gently, resting my forehead against hers.

“Oh how I missed that.” I chuckled.

She let out a small laugh “Me too.” She looked up at me “I love you Harry. You were the first guy I ever loved..”

“I love you too Sydney. You were my first love, and the only girl I have ever loved."
