Vaani's P.O.V.

I'd lost track of time. It seemed like I'd been running forever. The path seemed to be endless. Looking around in the dark frantically to find an escape, I bent down, with my hands on my knees, panting and trying to catch my breath. I could feel my wobbly knees giving up, my body shutting down slowly, gradually.
My heart that was thudding so loudly against my chest a few seconds back suddenly stopped beating, as a familiar cold voice seared through the air, freezing me. I could swear I sensed a sly smirk.

"Looking for me?"

God, no. No no no. This isn't happening.

Please.

Slowly turning around, I stood facing him. Drops of nervousness rolled down my temples.
Dashing as ever.
From his ombre-like built to his perfectly gelled hair, my eyes stopped to look at his.
He's undoubtedly the most merciless, unforgiving man I've ever come across. Ever since I've been brought here, he's only manhandled me. And the most pathetic part?
My captivator is insanely handsome.
And that only makes me despise him more. He learned a long time back that I wasn't one of his bimbos whom he'd get to do his dirty deeds with his looks.
Do I fear him?
More than I admit.

Will I ever let him know about it?
Hell no. I may be scared, but definitely not weak.

"Do I ever look for you? If you didn't notice, I was running away from you."

I could sense him clenching his jaw seconds before he lost his cool and charged towards me.
Before I could react, he roughly pulled me by my shoulder and threw me in the trunk of his car.
"You're going to regret your actions very soon." he spat, squeezing my jaw harshly.
This was all too familiar. Not again, noo. Please.
I closed my eyes as tears trickled down my cheeks onto the cloth stuffed in my mouth.
I remembered hitting my head onto something and passing out because the next thing I knew, my surroundings resembled that hell hole. Back to square one.
Dread filled my heart as I slouched against the cot in defeat. This was a nightmare, the worst kind where I wasn't even sleeping. And it probably wasn't anywhere close to going away.

After what seemed like a few minutes, I held onto the cot for support to get up and clean up my wounds, just when something dropped to the floor beneath the cot.
Confused, I bent down to look under it when I saw a burner phone on the ground and a note stuck on the downside of the cot. Picking it up, it read,
'One text is all I can give you. Choose wisely.'
Wait, what? Who could have done this?
'You'll have time to figure that out later. Use the phone quick.' I thought, as the rational part of me took over the reigns of my mind.
There was only one person whom I could trust among all this.
Only one who could pull me out of this pit.
Only one who'd find her way to me.

'S.O.S.
Help me.
-V'
my fingers trembled as they moved over the keypad and hit send.
Sticking it back where I found it, I let go of the breath I'd unknowingly held in for so long and sat down, closing my eyes.
To all the times you've responded to my S.O.S.'s, I hope this won't be an exception, Nandu.
