After the newscast ended I looked towards my parents. "How is this possible? It must be a mistake." I told my parents. Amy went upstairs to gives us privacy but I knew she was sitting on the top of the stairs.

"Honey, it's time we tell you. When me and your father first got married we planned our family. What we didn't plan was not begin able to have one. We tried everything. Adoption, foster care, but they all fell through. Then when we felt all hope was lost, we got a miracle. Me and your father were on our way home from another doctor appointment, we were about to turn the corner when we heard it. A crying baby. You were in the bushes. Back then if a mother died in childbirth and had no husband, the doctor would put the baby outside in the bushes. So when we saw you that's what we thought happened. So we took you in. Not in a million years would we have thought that we were raising the princess of Alva." My mother held her breath for my response. "Wow." Was all I could get out. She released her breath.

I got up and walked upstairs. Amy was waiting there for me. We didn't say anything. I sat next to her, put my head on her shoulder and she put her arms around me. We stayed like that for a while. Amy went into the guest room and I went into mine. As I fell asleep my mind kept replaying the same thought over and over. My life is never going to be the same.

When I woke up I found Amy gone. I went downstairs and saw my parents drinking coffee. My mother barely looked at me. "It came." She told me. Her voice was scratching meaning she was probably crying all night. I looked over to my right and saw a small cream envelope with my name in cursive on the counter.

I picked it up and opened it.
Dear Ms. Robins, you will be arriving at the castle in two days. You will not need to pack any clothes. But you can if you want. You will be fitted and dresses will be made for you. You may bring some personal items. You also may bring one guest. The previous information also applies to your guest. A car will pick you up at noon in two days.

Sincerely, Charles the butler.

I reread the letter two times before I finally understood what it was saying. I went upstairs and started to see what I would take.
1 pair of pjs
1 pair of jeans
1 pair of shorts
2 shirts
1 pair of sneakers
1 pair of flats
Once I got all of that I put away my favorite stuffed animal, honey bear and my childhood blanket. I put my suitcase by my door and texted Amy.
A-Amy
J-Julie

J-Hey can you meet me at our spot?
A-Always. Meet you there in 5.
I changed out of my pjs and put on high waisted shorts with a peasant shirt crop top. I put on my brown sandals and stuff my phone into my pocket.

I'm there before Amy. Our spot is a bunch of rocks under trees. But the leaves are so long it completely engulfs the rocks. Me and Amy found this by accident.

"What's up?" I hear Amy asking me as she sat down.
"Well I got the letter today and it says I'm able to bring one guest. And I've chosen you."
"OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!" Amy screams.
"We leave in two days at noon."
I give her the letter so she could read the beginning of the letter. "So I get to wear fancy dresses?" Amy asked. "That's wait it says."

Me and Amy hang out for a little while before heading home.
