It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife.My head was buried in a book, as per usual. This time around it was Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, and I was reading it for the first time. The first line already had me hooked – but Josie interrupted my reading with her usual happy-go-lucky attitude. She was one person who never wondered why I was enamored by muggle literature.
"It's so different from Beauxbatons, Elle, you'll love it! There's so much to learn at Hogwarts – so many more people to meet," I looked at my sister, smiling slightly. Josie never looked at any situation with anything but positivity – sometimes I wished I could be more like her. "You know you'll be able to take Muggle Studies here right? You can finally learn about everything you're so obsessed with."
I glanced down at the book in my hands. "I'm more excited about not having to wear that lavender uniform anymore," Josie giggled and straightened her bumblebee yellow sweater that somehow didn't clash with her long blonde hair.
"Josie?" A boy with gorgeous red hair poked his head in the door of our car, prompting a wide grin from my sister. I didn't miss the way her cheeks flushed bright pink.
"George! It's so good to see you," She stood up as he walked inside. They exchanged a quick hug and I hid my smile. It was so obvious that she liked him. "Where's Fred?"
Another gorgeous red-haired boy strode into our car. "Miss me, Jo?" Josie laughed and accepted his hug as well. "Who's this?" The boy, Fred, grinned at me and I raised my eyebrows.
"I'm Estelle. Her sister," I spoke up for myself before Josie could speak for me. "How in the world do people tell you two apart?" Right now I only knew George from Fred because he was not-so-subtly staring at my sister.
"Don't tell her! She'll have to figure it out for herself," I looked at my sister in surprise. She just shrugged. "I figured it out for myself and you're smarter than me, so I think you'll be okay," She paused for a second. "Where are Ron and Ginny? I want to go say hi."
Fred backed out of the train car before answering. "They're closer to the front. Come on," George and Jo followed him out into the hallway. "Coming, Estelle?" Fred (at least I think it was Fred) poked his head back in the doorway.
He flashed a charming smile and I rolled my eyes playfully before hopping up out of my seat, carefully setting my book down on my chair in my place.
The twins were obviously very popular – almost everyone greeted them as they passed. They gave some people high-fives and winked at some moony-eyed girls. Josie seemed to know a lot of the students too. That made me happy – she didn't fit in very well with the girls at Beauxbatons.
"Hey Fred, hey George," I gasped in shock. I guess I shouldn't have been as surprised as I was to see Harry Potter, but I just hadn't assumed that I'd meet him so soon – and so casually. "Hey Josie." I gave my sister a disbelieving look. She hadn't once mentioned in the two years that she had been attending Hogwarts that she knew Harry Potter. Or that he knew her.
"Hi Harry! This is my sister, Estelle. She's transferring from Beauxbatons this year," Josie grinned proudly and I gave him a nervous smile. He grinned at me and out of the corner of my eye I noticed a red-haired girl that resembled the two boys standing next to me giving me a slight stink eye.
Harry stood up and shook my hand. "Nice to meet you Estelle."
"Better watch it Harry, you're gonna make Ginny explode," A boy with shorter red hair (just how many red-haired people was I going to come across that day?) elbowed past the twins, another girl following behind him. She had curly brown hair and a very slim, pretty face. She slapped the boy on the arm as the red-haired girl – Ginny – let out an indignant huff before running out of the room.
