'Im pregnant and im not ready Rae'

is all I heard from Maya.I mean im shocked.Is she thinking what im thinking she gone do.I turned around and was faced with a mascara running down Maya.I sat infront of her and held her hand.

Me:Are you serious?Like what you mean you not ready?

Maya:I mean that I just got a better job than working at Boss Boutique,im only 20 years old,kenan is in the drug game.Im not ready and you know me I always wanna see the world before I settled down but now I don't even know what's gone happen.

I nodded my head and started to tear up cuz they way she looked.She had a combination of hurt,fear,and frustration.

Maya:Rae I don't want you to judge me or anything and you know im against this but I don't think it will be healthy if im stressing alot.Im asking to support me to follow through an abortion.I don't have anybody Rae,my own momma didn't wanna go to my college graduation cuz of her boyfriend.I don't have siblings and all I got is you boo.

I was stunned,I never believed in abortion, but Maya tend to stress alot I mean she cut herself one time during senior year when her so called boyfriend dipped out on her last minute before prom.Her makeup and dress was done,me on the other hand stayed home.She is just as broken as I am.

Me:Just let me think for a minute.

She sat there quietly and I grabbed her hand to walk to a near by park.It was silent.

My thoughts were all over the place.August homeboy got my girl pregnant.The stories she told me about him.She has a unstable lifestyle and past.

Me:Okay Maya.You know I don't like this idea.But its your choice,either  way imma support you.

She nodded and hugged me.

Maya:You know I don't like it either,but I can't bring a child in this world where his father doesn't acknowledge me anymore.

I stayed quiet cuz I was mad,hurt,and confused.This is all too much for a meetup with your bestie who you havent seen for nearly 4 months.

Maya:Say something Rae,please don't be mad at me.

I looked at her and smiled.

Rae:Imma be your R.O.D aight.

Maya:Thanx Rae,can you come with me to my appointment two days from now.I can't do this alone.

I nodded slowly cuz im sooooo against this.Next thing she did was hug me and walked away but not before telling me that she will call me later.

I've been sitting at this bench for 20 minutes till my phone rang.I picked up not seeing the caller I'd.

Me:uh hello

Aug:Hey baby....it sounds like ya catching a cold.Are ya aight?

I smiled just because of his voice and that accent.

Me;No...haha I was watching the notebook.I always cry at the movie.

Aug:That gay shit?im just kidding but I just wanna check up on ya cuz ya kno ya my soon to be wife.

Me:Awwwww yea im doing fine,no work till 3 days from now.I worked overtime.Wat you up to?

Aug;My lady on her grind, oh we heading to New York now.Im keeping my composure as always.

He was referring to Donte.

Me:Remember what I told you boo.Just wait till after tour aight.

Aug:Mane I hope so.Im on edge rite na,but if im talking to you then im good.

Me:You always make me smile.

Aug:And you always make me blush.

We talked for 2 hours till he had to check in his hotel,then we parted ways.

I went home and was bored.I played on my phone and came across that unknown phone number that called me this morning.It may be important so I called back.

ring,ring,ring

Female voice:Hello??Rae?

it can't be,how she get my number? oh hell naw.
