Peter's POV

Peter,

How are you doing? How are the boys? I hope they haven't been too much trouble. All is well over here. I'm almost finished with school. My English teacher Mrs. Davis thinks I will be a marvelous writer. She thinks I could be a great journalist or novelist one day. You know me. I can't wait to travel and have my own adventures. I could never stay in one place if I could help it. I wish I was with you. London is dreadfully boring without you here. How I miss your sense of humor that makes me laugh even when I feel at my lowest. I miss your green eyes that light up when they see me. I see you every night in my dreams. Do you see me too? I look up at the moon every night and I wonder if at that same moment you're looking at it too. As silly as it seems, thinking that you are looking at the same moon and thinking of me brings a small comfort to me. I pray everyday that you make it back to me. Please make it back to me Peter. As I wait, I count the days till we are together once more, my love. I love you.

Yours always,

Wendy Darling.

Peter rereads the letter for the 20th time. He folds it up and puts it in his front shirt pocket, close to his heart. He, along with his platoon, were sailing the seas back home to England. The war was over and they finally got to go home. Peter planed on marrying Wendy as soon as he got back. He never thought he would ever settle but it all changed when he met Wendy.

He first saw her at school. He fell in love with her the minute he saw her. He thought she was the most beautiful girl he had ever laid eyes on. She was a spit-fire, yet kind at the same time. She was exciting, always keeping him on his toes. They were high school sweethearts but then he was called to war. He was now the leader of his platoon of young boys ageing from 13-17. His best friend and his second in command, Corporal Felix who was 17 like him, was one of those boys.

"Sergeant Pan! The storm is getting worse!" Felix yells, running to him from above deck. Peter gets up and runs up top. Rain is pounding hard on the ship while the wind is blowing like crazy while thunder and lighting crashed all around them. It seemed as if all hell had broken loose, but for some strange reason, just in front of them they could still see the sun which is almost set in the sky as it gets darker. Suddenly, a bright green light filled the sky like a flash. The alarm bells started to go off.

"Whirlpool! Straight ahead!" someone shouts loudly.

Peter looked in front of the boat and there it was. A massive whirlpool that was sucking them in.

"Turn the wheel! Give it all the power we've got! Boys! Grab some rope and tie yourself to the boat. This is going to be one hell of a ride!" Peter yelled to his men. Peter then grabbed some rope and tied himself to the railing. Felix turned the wheel and gave it full power. It made the boat turn some, but it was too late. The whirlpool was too strong and they were going into it. They boys begin to panic as they helplessly watch while they and the ship went around and around into what looked like a circle to a huge black endless abyss.

"It was an honor to have served with you boys." Peter said looking at his platoon. He then looked up at the moon one last time. "Wendy. I'm so sorry my love." he said looking up at moon that seemed to have turned red. That was the last thing he saw before everything went black.
