We had today off in Baltimore, so today was the day Brendon and I were gonna have our first date. Since it was the first date, we had decided just to go window shopping. I'm wearing a casual red dress and black flats, and he's wearing skinny jeans with a band t-shirt. Something catches my eye, a pretty rosegold infinity shaped necklace. I stare longingly at it, seeing as I have literally no jewelry left, but I shouldn't go spending the little money I have on things like that.
He obviously notices my staring and asks "Do you want that? I could buy it."
"No no, I couldn't!" I protest, not wanting him to waste his money on me.
"I insist!" he enters the store before I can continue.
"Hello?" he asks the cashier and points out the one he wants.
"That'll be $359.000." she says.
"No, Bren, you really don't have to!" I pull on his sleeve. It's way too expensive.
But he pulls out his credit card and pays. He takes the jewelry in his hands and walks to my back. He pulls up my hair and puts the necklace around my neck. When he finishes with the clasp, he spins me around and smiles. "It looks amazing on you."
"Thank you.." I say with guilt apparent in my voice.
"Hey, don't feel bad. You deserve more than you have, Y/n." he lays a kiss on my head.
The cashier holds out a mirror and I look into it. It does look amazing. I'm extremely grateful to him.
We exit the shop and I interlock my hand with his, not being able to shake the feeling him buying me this gave me. It made me feel appreciated.
Once we finally make our way to the hotel, we crash in his room and order Chinese food. I lay on his bed and stare at the ceiling, absent mindedly moving my necklace around in my fingers. Brendon turns to me and smiles at my hands "You like it?"
"Everything but the price tag." I sigh with guilt creeping down my neck.
"Awh," he groans "don't worry about it! You can afford this stuff when you're the frontman of a highly successful band."
I shake my head and say "Yeah, but you still didn't have to spend it on me."
He looks confused "Why wouldn't I?"
"I'm just me." I reply solemnly.
I'm quickly engulfed in a hug. He's shaking his head violently and saying "Please don't think like that. You're worth every cent spent on that necklace and more."
"You mean that?" I ask into his chest.
"Never meant anything more." he replies.
I smile. A big smile. "Thank you..."
"No problem." he rests his head on top of mine.
