The day starts off just as boring and slow as any other normal Wednesday. I was in the middle of math, practically nodding off from lack of sleep. I couldn't fall asleep until about 2 in the morning, and considering how early I have to wake up, it makes since.

I pulled the hood of Jasper's Metallica sweatshirt over to help cover my face so I could pretend I was listening, but was really sleeping. I tried to give it back to Jasper, but he was wearing a leather jacket. Says he's 'trying out a new style', but I bet he just wanted me to keep it.

Slowly I lower my head to the table, my head next to the worksheet I just completed, with a pencil in hand. I move my eyelids in big, slow blinks. Slowly drifting off and catching some sleep I had missed.

I didn't realize that I had fallen asleep until I woke up to a loud thud next to my head. I threw my head up so fast that my ears were still ringing and I had blood rushing to my head, blurring my vision. That noise practically busted my eardrums.

Instantly I was flooded with the overwhelming scent of perfume. It just made me dizzier.

I looked up to see a Barbie doll. Well, okay, not an actual Barbie doll, but pretty close. She had a face that was basically like a coloring book, so much makeup I couldn't tell what her face looked like. She had blonde, wavy hair that was waist length. Her clothed looked like something ripped straight out of a magazine and she had an unnatural looking tan. I had never seen this girl before in my life.

Apparently, while I was dozing off, Mrs. Thompson introduced a new girl that came to our school all the way from California. And, of course, the only available seat was next to me. Sorry, scratch that, the only inhabitable seat was next to me. The only 2 others were next to Lucy and Gilbert.

Lucy, looked like she hadn't showered in 8 days (which she probably hasn't), and would win the prize for 'worst hygiene in the entire 9th grade' award. Gilbert, on the other hand, always had terrible breath and smelled like a gym locker. So, the obvious answer for the seat arrangement was the weird introverted geek. I'd say that was a win.

I looked at her awkwardly before settling my eyes back to my (once again, completed) worksheet. I twirled my pencil as I heard the teacher talking on and on about things I already knew. I put my elbow on the table and rested my head in my hands, only interested in the object in my hand.

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw the new girl blindlessly staring at my eyes, the way Jasper does.

I dropped my pencil, lifting my head up and putting my arm down. I sighed a long, long sigh and turned to meet her gaze. "What?" I said grumpily.

"Oh. Nothing..." She giggled ,in a high-pitched voice, and looked at the board, pretending to focus. I gave her a death stare before pulling my hood up and tried to fall back asleep.

I felt eyes glued onto the back of my neck. It was very uncomfortable. Hair-sticking-straight-up-on-the-back-of-my-neck uncomfortable. I pulled my eyebrows together, trying to shake off the feeling of being stalked.

I didn't want to look back up (it just felt like a lost cause at this point), but that's when the creature spoke.

"What's your name?" I could practically hear her eyelashes batting. Damnit.

Silence.

"Ummmm... excuse me?" The girl proceeded to poke my head. That got me springing to my feet, putting my arms defensively in a cross shape in front of my head. I bloody hated people touching me. They could all just burn in hell.

She smiled and asked once again, "What's your name?" I sighed with anger.

I mumbled, "..Neal..."

"Excuse me?"

Sure, I hated speaking to people in general, but I hated repeating myself even more.

At this point, I was pissed. "It's Neal alright." I practically spit out, trying to put my head back to its resting place in my arms. But, of course before I could, the human spoke out once again.

"OHMAGOSH! I love that name!" I rolled my eyes. Did I mention I hate humans? "My name's Romana, but since we're friends now, you can call me Ana." 'Since we're friends now' I mocked in my head. Don't you hate those people that think they're your friends, but really aren't. I hate those goddamn people.

I don't really remember anything else from that class except wanting to burn "Ana" in a fire. She just kept going on and on about how much she wanted the newest design of shoes. Is there really anything else girls talk about?

The bell rang and I sprinted for the door, leaving Ana behind in the dirt.

Once I got to my new class, I melted into my chair sighing in relief. I closed my eyes and pinched my nose, rubbing it back and forth.

"How's that hoodie working out for you?"

For once I was actually glad to see Jasper.  I smiled. He always new what to say when I was feeling down. He new I didn't like to talk about things, so he just always decided to leave it be.

"I wish it didn't smell like you so much." I replied. "It makes me feel like you're over my shoulder all the time."

"And that's a bad thing because....?"

"Sit down class!" saved by the teacher. Jasper took his seat next to me. "I would like to introduce a new student!"

Shit.

I went back to wanting to bathe everything in fire.
