I woke up in my bed feeling a little better. I breathe in catching a whiff of an unfamiliar scent.
Right. I'm wearing his university hoodie and Dom's cologne is all over me - I like it. I internally laugh for being ridiculous, "I'm really sick."
After waking up from a nap, again, I changed my clothes drenched with sweat. Hungry, I made my way down to our kitchen only to find out that my parents and brother is enjoying dinner with Dom.
He stayed here since lunch? I glance at the clock and it's already 8 pm.
"Aireen, come join us." Dom stood up and pulls a chair out for me. I eye my family as I settled on my seat. After asking how I'm feeling they went back to animatedly chatting with Dom as if he's a natural part of the household.
He seems so relax and carefree laughing and joking around. Even taking adult jokes smoothly that makes my parents like him more apparently. It's far from the stoic and cold that his sister pinned him to be.
"You need help with the oysters, heart?"
"I'm good." I absentmindedly answered while opening another oyster. And then it hit me, "Wait, what 'heart'?"
He left my question hanging. Everyone in the table are looking at me with heart-shaped eyes, excited and at awe as Dom shells more oyster for me.
"I told them we're together. There's no use in hiding, right?" His lips are in a relax line with a single brow raised but his eyes... his eyes are dancing in glee.
I was about to correct his lie when my brother cut in, "I don't mind if he's your boyfriend. I have to admit sis, you have taste. I just hope he can handle your antics."
"You're in college, having a boyfriend is normal. Just don't let it get in the way of your studies." Again, I was about to speak up after my father's useless advice since I'm not really in a relationship with Dom, or with anyone but a phone just interrupted me.
It was Dom's. He just received a text that made his expression change from teasing to irritated. Sighing, he slid his phone back to his pocket.
"I'm sorry for not helping clean up after but I need to go home." My mom waves her hand dismissing Dom's apology.
"Don't worry about it. It was nice having you, Dom." Mom turns her attention to me, "Walk him to the door, Air."
As if knowing each other for decades, Dom hugs my parents and already created an exclusive fist bump guy thing with my brother.
I didn't speak to him on our way to the door. They say that silence is the best way to communicate anger. And I know he feels it. I can see him from my peripheral vision glancing at me every now and then.
"Is it that bad for me to be your boyfriend?"
"Yes." I answered without blinking. He was about to say something but I shut the door to his face.
Immediately my phone blinks indicating a new message.
Play along... or else - D
With the attached photo he sent I didn't think twice, against my will I replied: FINE!
You look stunning in white, "Sky". – D
