November 16th 1940,
Days passed as we were made to stay in a prison cell. They said there will be a train coming to take us to a labour camp yet I know it is going to be something more deadly than that. My sister and grandparents are laying fast asleep and I am sat up, holding a candle unable to sleep scared of what's to come. I think back to my class when I was last there, there was seven of us. Now there's possibly only six maybe even less.
But then something happens, the cell is left open. I wake my family members up but hush them and I nod towards the cell door that is open. Then I make my way out slowly, a black door is open at the end of the corridor. They always leave that door open they are not meant too but they always step out there to have a cigar. We gather our belongings all together as we are walking placing them on our backs we run as quiet as we can. We made it. My grandparents have gold and fake papers so we take the stars off hiding them amongst our clothes and then we run to the train station. It's late which means it always seems to be easier to get out the country. But we cannot leave the country. GrandMother instead says we will go back to hers it's located next to the ocean meaning there is a possible escape again if we need too I just hope she made the right decision as we board the train I thank god for letting us escape safely.
